I have been stressed lately due to unrealistic pressure from my direct line manager. The short sighted demands from my manager are just a knee jerk reaction to what my manager hears from his superiors.
I am still early in my career, but wondering if I should compain for my second line manager or its a norm in industry to just keep doing short term throw-away work to keep the boss happy?

Nothing here is anonymous, every manager tells. If you are good with your manager finding out you complained about them go ahead but I can tell you they have long memories, don’t forgive and never admit it’s them and not you with the problem.
Dear OP, you are dishonest and fake. You came across as if you were employed here and looking for advice not employment. Pretty slimy. You are exactly what any company does not need more of. Go away.
I was the OP on this. Just wanted to check before saying No to a job offer at the firm. Seems what I heard is true. You lot are indeed toxic. Enjoy guys, you peole.must be miserable and I doubt any of you go for post work drinks. Who would.
Abuse? … for not being able to multitask?
Proof of hardship doing an Ops job?
This reads far more like a PIP candidate to me.
Get over it and grow up.
No one at this or any company cares and the sooner you accept this operate accordingly the better off you will be.
3 1/2 years into my first job out of college, I complained to HR about my manager/job. My manger found out and made my life he-l for the three or so months I stayed in that job.
Just saying.
Keep complaining until Roman comes to make balloon animals for you.
Or you can recommit to your job, focus and keep the cell phone out of your hand until after if quits witching.
You’ll get to meet Robin and your career will take off LOL.
Incredible… virtually every post here in this topic demonstrates career ending toxicity issues with our hires. I predict a very long and unsuccessful career.
Your career will inevitably be unsatisfactory if you don’t grow up fast?
You’re probably in the wrong job field. It happens. I’d look at something that you enjoy and for which have an aptitude.
You need to bypass both and go straight to ethics where it’s completely anonymous
MXK you are not professional. And CLM there is. CLM actually sounds managerial. You do not.
Thank you very much. Some good tips here. I am OP and yes, it ia my first professional job.
Everybody feels that they work hard.
Pro Tip … work the hardest on your team, be visible and ask your manager questions which demonstrate that you are visibly engaged.
Judging by the posts here you can rise up very fast and very far.
First professional job?
Have you set up a meeting with all the proof of hardship and hours you’ve spent with your direct manager first? You must first discuss and get all your issues on the table with him / her. Document everything and have examples and cases of stress. Then ask your manager point blank for help and a plan on how they can better help you and the company. Your manager was put there to remove problems for people not to create them. How can the manager do that if you go above their head from the start? You only go to your boss’s boss if you have been failed by your direct mgr on this more than twice. As for HR here, expect nothing unless you documented proof of abuse. Honestly? Either look to transfer after a year or just start looking at positions elsewhere.
