Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Wilmington DE location

Is there any news about the future of this location? We are down to just 1 building and saying it is even half full would be entirely too generous. I know the building has been up for sale for a while now but that hasn’t gone anywhere as far as I am aware. Just wondering if senior management is thinking it’s not worth it to keep the lights on anymore.

@1suh+1uDJ9Zvy - they would send the process to another location . This is what they’ve been doing for others as well

If that's the case and they do close the office in DE, how or who would sign and notarize the documents required of BNY Mellon Trust of Delaware?

One only has to ask a few questions: is it a growth center? Are jobs leaving from this site and going to other locations international and domestic? Do any of the business lines there require a Delaware nexus for the clients? The answers there could predict the future of the site.

They took the listing down a while ago. I honestly heard it sold, but I guess that was false unless they’re in the temporarily renting it back phase of the plan and never told us. I’m guessing all the weird random fixes they’re doing like labeling parking lot sections, new chairs and rugs in the lobby, lunch sitting areas on each floor, 4 EV spots in the garage, and a land line in each elevator lobby is to stage it for when they relist it. Rumor is it’s closing in less than 2 years. You should ask the question in our next all hands meeting. They seem to dance around the question instead of being straightforward so we know what to expect.

You know what? These are the kind of questions that should be allowed to hit our putrid panelists in those clown halls. But oh!! The prescreeners would never allow our gentle simple bobble heads on screen to have to respond to that. Meanwhile, we all know what the answer really is - offshore to be sure.

Is it still for sale? It doesn't show up on commercial real estate sites.
