Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Everybody is making cuts and offshoring

I want to leave this horrid bank, but I don’t have that many great ideas where to. I guess it would be smart to leave banking altogether.

@OP, perhaps way back when Bush was president. Senior.
Most companies learned pretty quickly how it didn't actually save money. Even Peggy from State Farm had her job moved back to the states.

Most companies tried offshoring back in the 90's and learned their lesson.

Why do you feel you ‘must’ be in a bank? Insurance companies, trust companies, IM firms, Utilities, telecom, networking, medical records firms, construction mgmt., hospitals etc etc. wen search them withing 50 miles of your home if you want to stay where you are and see what shines through. You are not a slave to this place or banking. Although that’s what RV and his mindless management monstrosities want you to believe.

It depends where you live. Banking in general doesn’t pay well. If you’re new to your career, try something else.
