Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

Any word on when the axe may fall on us?

Being laid off would be a blessing. This place has been falling apart for so long, and the only reason I haven’t left yet is because I grew complacent and because the job market these days is not all that great. I think all of us who are still here should start gearing up for job search and other opportunities, because there’s no bright future with MoA for sure.

There is so much nepotism at MoA. In the RVP ranks, an underperforming RVP has as his boss his best friend who is protected by the uncle who hired the Ex VP. All get promoted and get hugh pay increases and they never get penalized when money leaves the firm. No focus on asset retention. Now, billions are leaving per year, and new plan sales are way down, but the "Corporate Restructuring" benefits the Ex VP and RVP because they will will receive a huge bump in pay for taking on a shrinking workload and client base. It is a racket to say the least. The only ones ever to benefit at this company are anyone with a VP title or above. They don't truly case about their employees. If they did, they would publish the last 2 culture surveys

Yes, I was laid off in March of this year. I was there almost 20 years! It was a blessing in disguise!!! I was upset/angry at first but now I am so much happier and my health is better!
The last 5 years at MOA were awful! My office had so many RVPs in the 20 years. I liked all but 1 and they were awful but you know they just kept getting promoted. Go figure.

I would start putting out feelers right now - They don't care about employees or retirees
