RTO - 6 hours mandatory requirement?

Can anyone confirm that 6 hours in office becomes mandatory to call it a day?

Do you think this company is that cynical as to mark your RTO presence as Above or On Model if they think this is not actually the case?
Once a swipe and network login is recorded successfully in the system, you are good.

I think terminations are linked to poor performance or other reasons.

For those that say its just “gossip” that those who spend time in office arent being fired, they are. Two more of my coworkers who have been with bny for sometime but also spend 4 hours or so in office n finish the work day at home were also let go on monday. You can su-k the corporate overlords you know what all you want but the firings are happening. Normally though most companies usually do a verbal then written warning then final warning then termination. Bny is not even offering that. Thanks stupid asset admin girl in houston office for complaining about it cause you got to work 8-5 while rest of us worked all odd hours including nights n sometimes weekends to get reports ready for our clients! Now all the extra work goes to the remaining employees probably stressing them out and leaving poor morale amongst the remaining staff left. Ive also heard they are requiring managers to come in 4 times now per week as well. In my opinion I think they should have given us a verbal warning made the instructions very clear and fire those who had bad performance reviews. The whole tracking thing is extremely ridiculous and childish honestly.

I think we’re missing something here, I’m certain that all peeps fired at least once swiped without login to network. Until now nobody’s has been fired based off time spent in office if managed to log in. Until proven it’s just a gossip

A lot of people come in 4 hours per day. I am surprised to hear this. Do you think someone that you know was let go because other reasons such as performance?

They are terminating people who are only staying a few hours as well. I know someone who came in the 3 times a week stayed for 4 hours each day and was still let go this morning. It sounds to me like they are pushing the stay the whole 8 hours

6emy+1vH6b3l5 Being a shill for BNY is certainly a choice. Good luck with the boot licking.

Most of you scammers in the comments are the reason why we have gotten sc--wd and continue to. If any of you took a second to read the faq instead of just reading cr-p online, it says right in there that you are expected to work your whole shift in the office. So for those of you claiming there are no clear guidelines, there you go.
Also to the person who said, what if I have an appointment, or my kid gets sick, or I have to walk my dog etc etc.... that's what PTO is for

0 chance they start tracking hours without clear guidelines. What if I have an appointment and leave after lunch? What if my laptop breaks? Restarts? I have to sit in a town hall. I have in person meetings not using my laptop. Kid had an emergency and I have to leave.
There are an absurd number of valid reasons for why I might not be connected to the network for X amount of hours. They aren't going to fire people over that without providing clear guidelines.

@3nev+1vH6b3l5 i swipe my badge at the grant st parking garage. Gate lifts. I go in reverse. Go home. I've been designated the SME for my pod. Resigning if not laid off when the measly bonus hits end of Jan.
Not worth the toll on the mental health

@1sxv+1vH6b3l5 - It's a shame the garage doesn't have a badge reader. You sir (or ma'am) are a liar!

Just keep counting the seconds until you have enough minutes you need every day. They will notice your work ethic but for some reason they won’t give you a raise or promotion.

Could it possibly be that they are looking for you to do more than the minimum minutes and add more value?

Why not try and see…

@1sxv+1vH6b3l5 Be careful. They didn’t lay people off for swiping and leaving. They terminated them. They are checking that you both swiped and logged in to the system.

I've been doing a "drive-by" swipe at the Pittsburgh parking garage all year. I don't even enter the building. Above model. Praying to be laid off, as the entire team is either incompetent or do not care whatsoever.

Based on below comments all I can say that some US people should learn from European buddies or you will be slaves for the system & bny for the rest of your life.

I have couple of young people who are the "stars" recruited by the corporate as the budding stars from schools (DEI enforcement too !)

The "kids" (they are) are so scheming and savvy in gaming the system to use all the available entitlements in time off - Sick days, Working from Anywhere, volunteering, care for the family

And they never do full day vacation. They always do it 4 hrs and thus bringing down the number of days required to be in Office. They maintain a healthy above-the-model. I wish they use this "smartness" in completing the assignments and learning.

The worst is the abuse for Sick Days. Doc visit - 2 hrs , Lab visit - 2 hrs and so on ..
How can one do Work from anywhere for 1 day or 1/2 day ? As a manager I can just watch and their work has to be completed by others. It is a curse to be a manager (accountable) in this org

You people who admit you are looking to get over on the place are exactly the reason why Robin is here to scrape off the dead wood and unfortunately destroy honest hardworking people who do put in their time and try to make a positive difference. If you are ‘mailing it in’ and being a vegetable, then you deserve to be let go. Here’s hoping you 4 and 5 hour ‘log on’ only stinkers get whacked first.

That so wouldn’t work for my team. We’d be leaving during the busiest time of day. If we don’t get out by lunch time we’d be stuck there till 7-7:30 every day.

Yes. That’s where things are going to combat people swiping in, having their morning coffee and heading back home. You can blame the scores of people who do this on the regular.

all scare tactics to intimidate staff...its awful. Managers should be able to manage RTO and not have to be scared to show up on a list or database. I would expect Sr leaders to have more to do with their time.

I think the minimum is having a swipe and connecting to the network. They are catching people who just swipe in, not log onto the computer and leave ( or have someone else swipe their badge).

From what I’ve seen there’s no official minimum required time- just need to swipe into the office and log into the network
