Notice period

Does anyone know what potential consequences they try to enforce if you do not adhere to the proper notice period when resigning from your role?

I would just comply with the notice period and do minimum work. I’ll also take the rest of vacation days left. Not a good idea to burn bridges, take it easy and rest a bit before you start somewhere else.

Forget the Terminator iconic line and don’t come back.

Yes. I Retired and gave 15 weeks notice to remain Bonus eligible.

They carved up my Bonus and gave me nothing.

Monetarily how much could it really cost you?? If it's significant, then you're senior and could easily negotiate with new firm.

It’s situational. Some of us refused to honor ours because we were in abusive situations and HR didn’t want to mess around with us.

Depends on if you have deferred comp.

If something hasn’t vested and they have control over it then you’ll lose it. Otherwise the worst you’ll get is being marked “not eligible for rehire”.

The prior CIO gave less than a week notice.

It’s in the agreement you signed. Clawbacks, legal action. Seems silly to have these in place when other actions make it seem like they want people to leave. Good luck with your exit plan.
