Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Fired for not meeting the in office requirements

I was fired for not meeting the in office requirements, I was doing duties that were not in my role description for a below market salary compared to other companies. TBH they could have fired me a long time ago because I was not showing up to the office for almost two years. Today HR cut me after 3 years of employment for not meeting the office requirements. Seems like it was strategically planned.

How does it su-k? You stole massive amounts of time and money from the Bank and now you’ve been caught and fired.

Robin is a hero as far as I’m concerned. I hope that he finds, terminates and claws back all of the stolen time and money, and that the Bank begins to provide accurate references going forward.

Uhhh… yeah. You’re stealing time and money from the Bank every day. Stupid U.S. employees now feel that working from home (watching Netflix all day to be a birthright.

Can’t wait until all of our criminals are fired.

No, it’s well beyond coffee badging. It’s a massive scheme by disgruntled employees to steal unearned pay and money from the Bank. Hopefully Robin is going to catch, terminate and claw back pay from each and every time and pay thief.

You’re still whining 24 by 7 even as you rip off time and money from the Bank.

Disgusting ethics by our RTO Refuseniks

No 5his is serious rebellion against an employer by stunningly stupid militant slackers.

Sure you were.

Every RTO Refusenik was the hero of the team, went the extra mile and worked two jobs to carry the team. The reality is that the only thing that even got them out of bed was a quick drive to the office to get a badge in and back to bed.

“Strategically planned?” LOL. How much thinking does it require to fire a worker who refuses to work?

Are we seriously hiring people who absolutely cannot figure out that they work at BK?

You all don’t get it yet… do you?

You’re still trying to get over on the Bank but you’re already high up on the noncompliance list.

Hope that your mother still has the couch in the basement and that she still charges you for it

Honestly, nothing good is going to happen to you. I would plead on my knees for my job back and offer to return the cash in my paycheck. You should probably do the same.

That su-ks,which location is this? and this is not cofee badging firing? If not it’s a shame, lot of us do work extended hours at home after coming from office..sounds like RV has a clear agenda to eliminate X number by any means..

yeah it def does su-k. they are going after those who even came in but stayed for a few hours. happened to a few team members n myself 2 weeks ago. I feel they will be losing a lot of good employees this way.. In my opinion they should give verbal warning n much clearer expectations, especially when many of us worked after the normal 8 hour shift. If we weren't doing the work n not meeting expectations, I get it. But we all were. Advice to BNY: should have been clearer about the in office expectations. Should have said you wanted us here for the whole 8 hours 3 times a week from the beginning.

I mean, you had to know it was coming.. What’s funny is that I have a feeling most people complaining about RTO wouldn’t be complaining if they actually liked the work culture and didn’t have a sh-t commute. I voluntarily left because of RTO and now spend 5 days/wk in office (as the expectation at my new company) and actually enjoy being in the office. Go find greener pastures and dont limit your job search just for remote work.

1qfh+1w17PoIs Plus all your other rabid frothy rantings.

You cannot make it anywhere but here because you need ‘nannying’ . You like RTO and the attendence dashboards because it is literally the only thing you can do right. My advice to you is to get a sleeping bag and some camping equipment and stay at BNY 24x7 until Robin’s baked potatoes find an Indian and some anti fungal spray to replace you. You think 90% of life is just showing up and taking up space. That’s a sock puppet.

It’s got everything to do with the bank you caramel filled sock puppet. These rules are the current Bank regime’s way of eliminating people. If you can get the job done remotely - and the OP did for 3 years and then some- then you are a candidate for India anyway. That’s the mindset Pal.

You are why BNY is in trouble. We have ignorant people who do not listen, can’t read and can’t follow instructions. He/she said the majority of positions and he/she is absolutely right. WFH during COVID proved it. The majority of the positions can be done remotely. Not in some toxic office.

So, you get nothing except the door. You know something though? It’s a blessing. You are out and the nightmare is over. Yes, you could have done better for yourself to simply show up but, you are free now. You are wiser now and you will get something much better. Never forget… this is a horrible place to work for.

You know this company is ran by mo--ns who mandate RTO. Find ways to skirt it best as possible vs straight up not coming in. Play the game better and stick it to these SOBs as well as the RTO cucks who post on here and love it

Ya zero tolerance and not performance based. Managers have no say either above their paygrade. No one - i mean no one is irreplaceable from RV to food service.

There is zero reason for RTO for the vast majority of the positions at the bank.
