Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Lay Off's, by the number, and a paltry rant!

I'm in the middle of TX where they have been walking out hundreds of people over the last few days.

Lot's of Mortgage related folks as well as the tech support staff. No janitors, security guards, or maintenance personnel canned because BAC prefers to lease their buildings and pay triple the rate than own.

As many know, BAC is throwing away their money into ridiculous products and contracts all the time.

Someone must really be a good lay to sign all these agreements.

Who is sleeping with who? First someone must have really gotten a good lay to extend the HP contract after their abysmal failure statistics.

Someone smartened up or didn't swallow so Cisco gets the deal and.. hold on to your seats... the same support staff gets laid off and immediately picked up by a staffing firm that charges more money for the same service using the same people? Amazing - BAC don't you realize you actually SAVE MONEY by having your own infrastructure and support staff? Let's bring in Risk Management to the equation will ya'! In house vs vendor... hmm, risk management fail there BAC? LoLz.

How about a governance recap while your at it - the SLA's are retarded and they're written by BAC!

Another sign of a Motel 6 contract is the mortgage in-house loan origination system that transferred over from CFC. This custom app has withstood the test of time after multiple attempts to retire or upgrade it. Jokingly, there's another attempt whereas millions are being thrown into a cookie cutter application with poor performance, tester complaints, and a scalability nightmare. A replacement meant for an office with 10 people to go to BAC. Really BAC? Who slept with who on that one?

If you'd have thrown all the money you already had into a new frontend for the current system you'd have a revamped custom app that you don't have to lease for millions a year.... someone surely popped a Viagra for this one.

BAC has hundreds of thousands to spend on 'Magnetize the Mission' being shoved down the throats of everyone in the company. Yet, it's all geared towards bank staff at bank locations. I'm an admin, behind the scenes, with zero customer exposure. You think I want to hear about Joe the douche and how he is annoyed that we ask him two security questions and that Lorrainne was able to diffuse his hostility with an upbeat attitude? Really? How about letting me know how upper management magnetizes their pay checks when you send out re-organizational emails that include promotions to newly created positions without those being listed on MyHR? Equal opportunity, career advacement..... non-existent. It's all about who you're sleeping with I guess.

There's a rumor the Beach St site may be closing, why would BAC close a site at a building they own outright (Thank you Countrywide) but keep a dump like the Amon Carter site open (a building they lease from American Airlines). Here's a bright idea, you have a nicer building that you own and is mostly empty, move the staff from Amon 15 miles down the road to Beach and then end the lease on the Amon building. My guess would be several million dollars saved right there

Yes, you are totally right and what happen in BAC now... Those senior management should be let go since they have been messing up the company since NEW BAC.
