Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

ATL's start updating your resumes...you're next.

They will use you to get past the hollidays and then you will be gone or PT at lower pay.

what you mean they are gonna keep two or three atl's per team while downsizing supervisors and buyers?? when the new "technology" will do some of the duties belonging to both buyers and atl's-robo order system and robo schedule?? and dont tell me the stores need "leadership" present on every shift to do a write up or two.....they will give those 2 or 3 atl's an offer they cant refuse-all of you are laid off but some of you can apply back for the same position at a lesser pay .....believe that!!!!

ATLs can join the union. I remember that from the anti Union training hosted by Mark Earnstein

Well if there was a union ATLS couldn't be part of it. They are "management".

I hear what you're saying, but it just seems crazy. The ATLs do so much on our team, that even taking one away means a lot of things simply won't get accomplished.

Not a rumor. I was promoted to atl a few months ago. I didn't make the cut.

I'm at one of those stores where atls and above are allowed to be completely and willfully incompetent. My TL spends 6 or more hours a day sitting in back doing nothing, even if it's the rare Saturday that she doesn't schedule herself off. She shops with her family on the clock, takes extended breaks and accomplishes nothing. I rarely get all my breaks because she's "too busy" to cover the floor. It's been going on for years, STL doesn't care and regional only comes around a few times a year. Those are the only days I see her on the floor and actually working.

I have seen a lot of negative posts against ASTL's, TL's, ATL's and Buyers that really just blow my mind. In the store that I work at we are all required to work on the floor 95% of the time. Our Buyers buy but also throw truck, work back stock, make displays, order signs, clean, etc. TL's and ATL's are also required to help stock, make display's, help sub teams with whatever they need as well as doing their duties. STL and ASTL's are on the floor 90 to 95% of the time as well and are always helping each dept. as needed. Our STL set that standard (of course there are a few exceptions who do what they can to get out of work) and the majority of leadership and buyers adhere to it. I can't even imagine working with people that hide in their offices all day or don't show up to work for weeks. How can a store run well that way and how does Regional not catch it and get rid of them?

Will they cut ATLS right after team consolidation, or will they wait until January?

How can no one not realize this time was coming... nothing stays the way it is forever. Company's evolve, things change, technology eliminates some duties that we had to do... reconstruction is needed, just like what Publix did not that long ago (except the laying off part).that is because Too many atl's and buyers staying in the same position, and a lot of them not putting in enough work to get the job done, thus the departments don't run way they should. I am speaking of grocery in particular.
