Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Anyone know what will happen with artist position?

How could it stick around long term?? It's clear to me but what about others- what do you think?

I was told that TL's would be making their signs in AV AFTER Christmas. They are creating them now, so I believe we are losing our positions sooner rather than later. I'm looking for a new job now.

Freelance on elance - takes a while to build reputation, but once you establish it there is a ton fairly well paid work

I was a signmaker for 8 years and took the severance. After I heard from other seasoned sign makers I was happy for my decision to leave. We talked and know that the Creative Lead position is TEMPORARY. Figure it out: chalk work is no longer creative, two boards max in the store - training TL's to make their own signs through AV - no glass/floor writing - produce is going back to printed signs - no creative individual work, it's all outlined and mandated at Regional level, hours are broken down by tasks - endcaps are pre-printed.

Where do you go from there? Now factor in the classification ( not " Creative Lead" but regional TM ) and all store "artists" will be reclassified and offered other TM positions this Spring.

New regional title is true. You have to access Workday from a desktop to view it. 'Regional Marketing TM'

Dig deep into your workday account. Artists are classified as regional tms as of the date of the big layoff announcement but no one I know of has noticed or said anything about it. When they make the cuts after Christmas and before the next HSA $ dump the artists who lose their jobs will be lumped in with regional positions lost so the job loss number looks better for individual store tms.

Clearly I think it's going away too. It's blaringly obvious at this point. I just wish I had an idea of when so I can get the sick feeling out of my stomach

What do you think? It will be gone. If they could have robots do your job they would replace you. Better for the bottom line.
