Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Any Jan 4th updates?

There are some unsubstantiated claims that HEB and other companies are planning to buy whole foods market, region by region and starting on the east coast. Is there any more information that anyone can share regarding this? Time's a ticking. Thanks in advance.

There is no January 4th deal. Whole Foods is making structural and operational moves that would possibly facilitate a private equity buyout or us returning private (unlikely), but we are not making moves that would indicate a sell off by region. Whole Foods aims to be a global brand. Losing portions of the US would be too detrimental to our image. The investments we are making (365 expansion, most recently hiring Tien Ho, etc) show that the company is trying to rebrand it's image nation wide. They are costly actions that would not be taking place if we were being acquired bit by bit in January. Whole Foods is hoping to project confidence again one day soon.

Do I think any of it will work? Not really. Do I think another round of restructuring and layoffs is coming? Most definitely. But this January 4th rumor is just that, a rumor. It's also a highly unlikely one.

I heard that the sale is a done deal. Each region to a different competitor with Florida and the south region combined as one. Jan 4 us the date to announce .No regional presidents will be retained.Nor Vice Presidents .Store staff is largely safe but a new,Lowe pay scale will be put into place . My source is your momma.

Aside from negotiations with HEB, I am not aware of other companies, besides seeing others on here post it. It's a brave soul to want to clean up this mess.
