Had a great interview yesterday at a company that's actually growing and will match what WF is paying me. started having second thoughts until I clocked in for my next shift. Everything is either dirty, old, or broken, and that includes the atmosphere of team member morale. The only thing I'll miss is the discount on eggs, meat, and butter. Never really shopped for much else here. There is a world outside the farm. Try and find your spot in it.

I dont care about the discount. All that leaving meant was me having to be more conscious about my spending. Working there my wallet bled out repeatedly. I can easily say now sans discount, i spend even less than when i had it...and im not doing without. Suddenly things like a cookie bar or a 9lb salad bar seem absolutely absurd in my life.
As well, i always leave on a good note, especially if you were one with a good work record etc. My previous employer to wfm left the door open to me if i chose to return, because i dealt with management on a professional level.
I left wfm on the same note...as best as possible. Because while it is not a relief to think of wfm as a financial fallback ahould money get tight, i can say this much, i wont do a damn think more than cashier if I ever -had- to go back. Thats the thing, i dont -have- to. We all have options and choices to make. Many people are going through withdrawl from suckling the wfm teat for so long..
Get out there and open your eyes to the rest of the world. Wfm isnt the guiding light- they have done just as much smear campaigning as the next grocer...once you get beyond the fact that they arent so damn special anymore, a lot more opportunities and roads to travel.
And if your intent on burning bridges...
May the light guide your way
There are plenty of jobs comparable to WFM. Just go apply. If you have the experience, than you should be ok.
I agree with 186191. Always leave on good terms. That means 2-1/2 weeks written notice whether it's before the holidays or not. That's it...and be extra awesome those last 2-1/2 weeks too so that you will be missed. Never say "never again!" because you never know when you might have to come back or relocate to another area and re-apply, plus you'll have good business and personal references for the future. Never ever burn your bridges. I was totally fed up with so many things when I left but I still left on good terms.
Planning to stay for the holidays, but already updated my resume and have been looking around.
OP. Leave on good terms. You never know. You may need a PT gig some day for extra income, or a reference. It's really difficult to put a job on a resume when you left on bad terms. Be mature about it.
I'll miss the discount, but I'd be happy to do all my shopping at Trader Joe's. The WFM kool-aid hasn't saturated me too much.
Had a second interview and I'm very confident about it. I can't decide if I want to put two weeks in or just tell my piece of shit TL/ATL to f*** off right before the holidays. I would feel bad for leaving my team high and dry, except they are all on my side and are looking for other jobs too.
Congrats! I put in my notice as well.
Discount is the next thing to go.
What company? I need a new job too
