what are you talking about, tahini doesn't mean you're going to see pools of oil. i use a ton in my recipe, and it turns hummus light and very thick. but yes, all premade store hummus skimps on it, and 9/10 results suck.
The best is the little tiny container of Engine 2 hummus... It has no oil so there's no tahini which is the costliest ingredient plus it's what makes hummus taste like hummus. Basically it's ground chickpeas with a little garlic or red pepper added. So it tastes nothing like hummus but costs a whole lot more. What a scam.
