Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Have been with WFM for 10 years plus and was not laid off. Still dealing with the fallout and labor cuts. Many of my friends were let go and the company will never be the same. That said, half of those offered severance were overjoyed, a quarter were already looking for something else, and the last quarter were ruined. They did not need to do this. As I write this WFM is breaking ground on a multi-million dollar Global Headquarters across Bowie Street (in Austin) from the Lamar location. There is something very wrong with us and any Team Member taking a pee in a urinal can see it. Those of us who are still with the company can control our own destiny. We have a right to form a Union and have collective bargaining and we should take this step. It is very evident that your full time job is on the line as evidenced by recent layoffs. Please help us make this company WHAT IT SAYS IT IS and speak to a union rep. It is fully legal and federaly protected. We have nothing to lose at this point as the stock is under 30.00 we might get bought at any moment. I believe in this company and it's core values. That's why I encourage you to speak with someone other than your Team Leader, or your husband, or your mom. Talk to a professionaly trained UNION UFCW recruiter and let your trusted friends know that WFM TMs have a say. We are recognized as stake-holders by the company. Let us claim our stake in WFM.
