Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Whole Foods Market is using pirated software; anyone else notice that?

I find it interesting that a company that is so concerned with theft, both from employees and customers, is using pirated software. The only reason I think it's pirated is the lack of unique logins for two programs that I am aware of: Filemaker Pro and Adobe CC programs. I'm just wondering how much of a scandal this would be if it got out: the company that is so focused on "technological solutions" to its current financial woes is actually stealing software and not paying the appropriate licensing. Wondering if there's anyone else who is using software in their daily job and has noticed the same thing.

I have a relative that purchased a bulk CS license from adobe for approximately 125 computers. Adobe uses internet connections to verify that this limit cannot be exceeded. If it reaches the limit, it must be uninstalled from another machine before the code works again on a different one. So yes, every busineas does it differently because the proceedure for it depends on how many licenses they purchase and how they implement it. Some keys do have unique user logins, because it allows that user to install and use the paid program on several machines (home, work, laptop, etc- similar to how tou purchase licensing for music on itunes and can load and play the media on up to 5 devices). Stating they are using pirated software because ot was "different" than another business does nothing more than: prove your malicious intent, show you ignorance of technology and discredit the legitimate issues that do get posted here.

So please, move on already.

Yep. Really reaching far. Looking to stir up trouble where there is none. Destroys the credibility of anyone who posts legitimate concerns

The only reason why I asked is that we recently were updated to Adobe CC, but instead of getting a unique login for installation (I have a subscription of my own), the files were put on a USB key to install. My partner works at an agency where they all got on CC, and each one of them received a unique login. It just made no sense to me. But maybe it works differently for enterprise.

When I was a signmaker they upgraded our Creative Suite software and the Regional techs installed it using the correct purchased codes. It was all above board.

They purchase bulk licenses for the programs that they use, just like any other large organization. You're really grasping at straws on this one.
