Sorry I was referring to the article, which outlined an abusive "electronic sweatshop" enveloped in propaganda about changing the world. I was not suggesting that anyone walk out of our company, at least not without having secured alternate employment.
I don't walk out because I have bills to pay, kids to feed. On a deeper level the whole system of living for money could be touched on, but I have suck up my philosophical views at times and have my turn at moving the common wheel, so to speak. Most of us have to work so we do. Because of this we are replaceable...so I see little logic in walking out. Better to hang in their and make them pay your agreed upon wage and benefits till you find something else.
If I were like 18 I might be all for a walk out....but I'm much older than that.
So do your job as best you can and make them pay.
But also be looking in case they pull the plug....
FANTASTIC article. It's just a perfect indictment of the phony quasi-religious "changing the world" culture that combines arbitrary favoritism with (in the tech world) a thinly veiled electronic sweatshop. Oh yes, it's all for the good of the "team".... What those workers need to do is WALK OUT, en masse. But they won't do it because they've been pumped so full of vile propaganda that they can't think straight anymore.
He/she can go and find happiness somewhere.
I read this and laughed at the neo-corporate speak used at that job..such similarities.."you rock,while moving forward"...etc...
Yeah, it's kind of like that. Three days of indoctrination/orientation, blah, blah, blah...then, sorry, you don't fit in.
