Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Well this is the week we've all been waiting for, part of me wishes to be on the list

After all the BS of the last 8 years, I'm finally over it. It used to be a place you could be proud of working for. When did "do the right thing" disappear from our values? Wishing everyone the best and remember when one door closes another one opens. Preparing to dive through that opening and lose all the stress...

It's going down in Greensboro today.. Managers and employees... Time to reduce the FTE. I have never seen so many people preparing to possibly lose their jobs. Desk being cleared out, boxes and bags of personal effects being packed up, carried out, or thrown away. All the while the building management is hanging death birds from the building to keep real vultures from roosting. How ironic.. God bless you all Greensboro Triad Center...

So, sorry to all those affected. But, what is a bank going to do when it collapses? Pay you with monopoly money? They are like every other company out there trying to survive. I've seen hardworking managers laid off at BofA. Everyone will be affected at some point. Have a plan. Simplify. Living with as much as we have here in this country is unsustainable.

So nice to hear that others see what's going on! How can the bank not review the individual they are letting go! So many good employees, yes, including myself are let go while the slackers stay on! Why??? Why did I work so hard and go above and beyond and score high on all my PDP's and reviews just to be let go on the end? Was it because I was mywork? And if so why! I saved the bank so much money working from home!!!! I busted assworking from home and my work proved it but they still let me go with not even a warning! Not going to lie, it's hard to hear others talk about wishing they would be let go! Being laid off is an emotional ride, be careful what you wish for! I agree however, I'm not worried about it anymore! Every damn week, worried you are going to be let go! Well, it finally happened! Still waiting for the next door to open and I half faith that it will as I know my work ethics are solid! The bank is making huge mistakes letting all the hard working employees go while the ones that stay are surfing the Internet all day! I'm not saying all, but a lot! Hell, there were at least 2 on my team that I would have thought would have been let go way before they got to me! But there it is again! It does not matter! The VP's and managers should be held accountable as well and ashamed that they did not go to bat for myself and all the others!

I can early retire, but I won't give this company the satisfaction or let them off the hook. I have worked very hard for my money snd tenure. I have seen great employees laid off, while lazy asskiss up employees are given kuddos for a job well done. A lot of brown noses around my area. Hopeing for a package soon, if not I have no problem giving this company the same notice they would give me / 0. For all you younger associates, update your resume, no loyality at this company. The stress of a potential layoff is not worth the effort. Bank of America is no Shangri/La and you don't live forever.

Does your statement "most unprofessional, lazy workers" refer to the "new hires or workers close to retirement"?

Just curious,

Someone close to retirement

(and hoping for a package)

It's so scary and unfortunate to not know if you will lose your job that you spent half of your adult life working (like me). I don't understand how there are so many internal job postings and yet so many great associates getting the ax versus the new hires or workers close to retirement. They usually say, "last one hired, 1st fired" but it's not the case at BOA. At BOA the assets are cut without warning while all of the most unprofessional, lazy workers get to stay. There is no loyalty or justice in Corp America!
