Yes I was ROTFLMAO when they put Tallahassee and Jacksonville (and the future Jacksonville Beach store in the same "metro." It's 185 miles from Tallahassee to Jax Beach and that trip can run 4 hours during the rush hours. What they do is put the metro person on salary so essentially they don't have to pay for all the drive time. The WORK still has to get done of course. Smart companies open stores in clusters and grow gradually. That way they benefit from local economies of scale and the logistics efficiencies. I emphasize "smart companies."

3xjo, it won't. It's really not working at all, from what I see. Our metro MTL spends more time on the road than she does in the stores, planning or working or whatever. I take it she can't text the entire time she's on the road either, but maybe lots of conference calls? It would be way cheaper just paying someone an hourly wage to take care of one or two stores within 10 miles of each other. Now someone's being reimbursed mileage, their car is being driven into the ground, and no money is really being saved here nor is any efficiency being gained.
FORTUNE 500 BEST COMPANY EVERYONE
How will this work in states with a store hundreds of miles away from one another?
Why can't they cut the assist. Coordinators who do nothing but show up at the store sit down open a computer and sit for 10 minutes. What a joke. Two Astl's for what???
Stores under 600k will be affected in SP
Can confirm stores under 400k in PN also combining.
Stores that make less than 400k a week are combining teams in the na
Someone alert the news. No severance?
Can they make the ast. Regional coordinators a pt20 position and make them work a variety of shifts "as the business needs" in store locations??
Yup. One sign maker per store in every region, regions that don't have the metro PBS/PBP model moving towards that, stores under 40,000 square feet combining teams.
