Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Today's Layoffs Were Pretty Big

If you were mywork and not near a major core site you were let go, heard a LOT of myworks were cut. Jacksonville's foreclosure side got HAMMERED, all laid off, whats worse given 2 week working notices instead of non-working notices. CRT in Addison hit hard, FRR in Plano and Fort Worth hit, collections in Fort Worth let go of folks. Thats just the tip of the iceberg it was a biggie today

GkTXick-1qct-YIKES!!! Sound a bit jealous!!!! I'm sure it's people like you that helped take this program away! You and the ones that couldn't handle working from home and could not be productive. Don't say shit like this when you don't understand! People working from home have based their lives around it! I'm sure you are some

MY WORK associates? - bleeding hearts - just suck it up. The gravy train is pulling into the station. Quit whining and learn to juggle work/family/school/commute like most of us. It's the American way - get over it - you will survive. Guaranteed

I'm a mywork associate in technology located in California. I have not been told to report or move back in the office. Really not sure what is going to happen due to all the changes occurring in BAC technology. One thing is for sure: I'm keeping my resume updated.

Got laid off yesterday Tues March 8 (Risk - Los Angeles mywork). I was one of those that worked hard from home. Still feeling shocked. Life goes on.

I felt the same way! I worked harder at home. It didn't matter after 5 years of doing it and getting amazing reviews and raises each year. None of my hard work mattered in the long my run.

I completely agree! When I WFH, I put in easily 12 hr days. I log in at 6 before the kids are up. I respond to all my emails while having my coffee and breakfast and then kids get ready for school/daycare with me. Drop them off and am back on. Work through lunch, get dinner started and work until 550 when I pick up my daughter from after-school care and my husband gets home with my son from daycare. Have dinner, put the kids to bed at 730, and my laptop is still on. Check it on and off in the evening while relaxing after we clean up. AND I LOVE IT!! Why do I love the long hours I put in? Because it gives me exactly what I want!! BALANCE and to relax and interact with the kids in the morning when they are getting ready for school. To have a cooked meal when they get home and to all sit at the table together.

You know how it goes the days I go into the office? Wake up at 530 and run around like a mad woman trying to get myself to look put together for the office. Wake the kids up by 6, because if they do not wake up by 6, I will not be able to drop my son off at 715 (this is when before-care opens and we have to be waiting there when they open and he needs to RUN out at that minute,) RUSH the kids to get ready, lots of screaming and stress, drop off at daycare and pray that a teacher does not have anything to say to me, because that minute is critical. Avoid all eye contact. RUSH to the train station and take the train in and look around on the internet (while at home i could have been working for hours at this point.) get into the office, already drained.

and then I need to catch my 515 train or else I will be late picking my daughter up from after care at 6. Which many days I am as the train runs late. And she risks being kicked out. I am freaking out on the train every single ride on whether I will be late and she will get kicked out. I either order dinner while on the train or pop one of those frozen bags into a pan. The kids are starving but they will need to wait. we won't sit down until 7 and they need to be in bed so they can wake up early the next morning to start again. So lots of pleading to get things done to be ready for bed. Forget an extra book.

I love having some flexibility to work from home. I work way more and am happier about it!! It's a win-win. Mywork is a win-win for the right people! Have some faith in your employees! If you don't have faith in an employee and are wondering what they are doing, you have much bigger problems. As a manager, you KNOW which employees can be given flexibility and which cannot. So sad to be treated like complete, worthless, replaceable SHT!

My boss is VERY happy with the work I do. She is constantly telling me to LOG OFF, take a "real" vacation day (always log in on vacas,) stop working while sick, etc. I feel like her giving me the flexibility to WFH makes ME want to put in the extra work to show how appreciative I am.

No way will I work this hard if I need to come in daily. I physically will not be able to, and why would I? I will put in my 8-5 just like someone above said.

I work for Compliance as Mywork associate. We haven't been told to go back to the office.

I think it depends on your org. I have been mywork for 3 years and in a major hub city. I was told, if office space is found, eventually I will have to go back. However, I am the only person in this city in this org, so I guess I'll be sitting alone? They will get 8-5 from me, I will take my hour lunch. I work 50+ hours a week now... it won't be the same in the office. So, will I then be under performing? I was also told, those not in a major hub are definitely "in jeopardy"..

I heard of no layoffs out of Hopewell (Northeast hub - NJ)..But some MyWork (including me) were told we have to come back to the office by April 1st.

Are there any major hubs in the northeastern part of the country?

Did not affect any or the mywork folks I know. I think this is like everything where they use it against you if they don't like you and you're fine if they do. Just a guess though. The ones I know we're told to start coming in but their managers are fighting for them not to have to and as of now they are not off mywork.

This is the dumbest thing. Responsible mywork associates work wayyyy longer hours and work through lunch. That's just how it goes.

Which group was told to release 100+ jobs in June?

You could telecommute, right? No sure how many days in a week is allowed. VPN usage is definitely monitored so I'd expect the bank to impose limits on telecommuting hours. You'll get a non-compliance notice if you break the rule.

There's still many mywork associates who remain and weren't notified today ..And some don't live anywhere near any hubs.
