Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Pittsburgh prevails !!!! Not gonna quit! !!!!! Woot woot !!!!!!

Well now..... You don't know much, do you? Pittsburgh trained in Texas and they are going strong. They are collecting credit card delinquencies. Mortgages are a thing of the past there. They are going to have jobs from now until....................forever. They are smart and know how to run the business they do. Give it to them and they will do it!!!!! They aren't afraid of work. They aren't afraid of change. The rest of you just don't have the balls to take on new projects. Pittsburgh has the BEST employees on the Bank of America map. Face it, you don't have a job because you didn't have the ooooompfff to get r done. Pittsburgh did and always will. No lazy slugs there. You can count on it. Pittsburgh has excelled ............ In all ways and always!!!!!!!! So don't cry over spilled milk because Pittsburgh can do it and does it. Stop whining. Boo hoo. Go for it and you will get it.................. PITTSBURGH did!!!!!

Congrats to OP for having worked that long then. It looks like what annoyed others here is his/her statement that others are whining, not doing their job, etc. I'm sure Pittsburgh is doing a great job, but so do other locations. Having worked 32 years, we can say the OP has experienced more years of stable job market than most of us here. It's easy to say that when you are retiring.. People come here to seek help and input. It's not like everyone could go to Pittsburgh and get a job there, right?

As for the racial slurs, there is no need to go that low.

If she worked 32 years it is 64 weeks severance. It is two weeks for every year.

I thought the max was 1 year (2 weeks x 1 year of service) so even if you worked more than 26 years, you'd only get the severance of a 26-year employee.

Good for you 64 weeks, you do deserve it! Especially after putting up with this BS for so long. Enjoy your retirement!

I checked my paperwork and I get 64 weeks, not 68. So the poster that said NO ONE gets 68 weeks might be right. All I know is that I get 64 weeks. Like it or not. I deserve it, thank you.

You all talking about what that retired lady had to say should have respect for her. Some of you dropped the "N" word and that only shows your ignorance. It only shows how dumb you are when you accuse someone of bashing when that was your only comment. She had spoken intelligently unlike some of you who intended to say cruel things. You asses should grow up and practice what you preach. You know what really sucks?? Mean people.

As I said, I am no longer employed as an employee of Bank of America. I survived many....many layoffs. It wasn't a matter of no oooooomph to get r done on my part, I can tell you that smartass. I prayed to be let go after 32 years. I wanted my severance in full. So when I am done with that, I will be officially retired. I have earned my ability to gloat and boast. Maybe when you put in all the years that I did, then you can gloat as well. If you make it that long. NEWS FLASH..... 68 weeks severance is what I was entitled to receive and am currently in the process of receiving, for the years of service to that place. All you young people think you are so intelligent and know it all. You know less than you think or give yourself credit for knowing. If the work and management sucks so badly in Pittsburgh, I am sorry for that being a problem. Speak up and air your concerns as a group and demand respect from management. If you all agree, then I think it's a no-brainer. Regardless, Pittsburgh has taken on a lot of changes, so yes.... They are almighty and deserve to be rewarded.

Yes, you are a troll. You gloat and boast and at the same time bash others like your team is almighty.

1............ I am not a troll.

2.............I am not a manager

3.............I am not a zealous, entry level corporate clown

4.............I am certainly not high on anything

5.............I am not African-American (so what if I had been?)

6.............I definitely do NOT need "Hooked on Phonics" as I have a Masters in higher education

7.............I am not training anyone to take my job

8.............I am no longer employed at Bank of America, but I am receiving a huge severance for my years of service there. After 68 weeks of severance, I will be living very comfortably on my pension, 401k retirement and social security.

9.............I am a female not a House Boy as was previously commented by a very prejudiced person.

10..........All of the employees at Pittsburgh are phenomenal people. They are a diverse group and genuinely care about each other. They all pitch in and do what needs to be done to succeed. Even though Pittsburgh isn't a "Hub", they are still willing to go above and beyond and THAT is why they will be in operation for a long time to come. They have gone through many layoffs and yet they still manage to thrive.

People in Pittsburgh are reluctantly doing well with the change in environment. Most are simply biding their time until a better job becomes available. There is a lot of animosity towards management, as credit card collections is forced onto an unwilling employee base. Just wait until the 1 to 10 shift becomes a reality, and attrition rises. Then see how the original poster feels, when half of their office walks.

As ridiculous as the original post is, I am shocked to think that I might work with some of you who are quick to throw racial slurs.

That's the sign of a lack of intelligence when you can only hurl insults vs hold a meaningful dialogue...Please consider getting an education or at least reading some books for learning enhancement..From the sounds of it, you may want to start with Hooked on Phonics.

They are training people to take over upper level jobs on a lower pay scale.

They can't undo 10-20 years of yearly raises so they are serving walking papers to the experienced and training new hires on a base salary to take over those jobs.
