Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

The mojo IS back...unfortunately it's dripping from the ceiling onto the salads

This report is absolutely sickening. Prep foods facility in the Northeast was run like a cesspool. WHO WAS IN CHARGE OF THIS, WHERE ARE THE EXECUTIVES, AND WHY AREN'T THEY BEING FIRED IMMEDIATELY? Highest quality products? Not even poor quality products. Freakin' dog food is prepared with more care. I will NEVER eat another prepared food item again from this dump, either from a regional facility or a store. GROSS and DISGUSTING. .

From the NASDAQ'S OWN WEBSITE: Whole Foods Warned By FDA About Its Grimy Facility --

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has demanded Whole Foods Market Inc. management to resolve unsanitary conditions found at its plant in Everett, Massachusetts where an inspection revealed serious violations of food-safety regulations.

FDA says it found severe food-safety violations during its inspections in February.

The FDA says it found ready-to-eat pesto pasta and mushrooms quesadillas being prepared directly under an area in the assembly room where condensate from ceiling joints was dripping onto the surface below.

Meanwhile, an employee in the Pre-Pack Room was spraying ammonium-based sanitizer to clean work surfaces while another employee in close proximity was packaging exposed ready-to-eat mesculin salad. Another employee's unprotected upper sleeves were frequently touching ready-to-eat leafy salad greens as leafy salad greens were packaged into retail packs.

"FDA has serious concerns that our investigators found your firm operating under these conditions," the agency said.

Whole Foods Market North Atlantic Kitchen, based in Everett, Massachusetts, supplies prepared foods and other products to Whole Foods stores located in Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey.

Now we are seeing the crocodiles and demons behind the smiling masks of "Conscious Capitalism." They don't give a rat's assabout their own customers because if they did there would be so many heads rolling it would look a bowling alley. Also, there would have been independent audits all along with serious consequences. What did they execs know and when did they know it? Time for another big fat shareholder lawsuit.

I know a dairy specialist who was snapped up by an awesome competitor and the opportunities are wide open. His wife told me privately that he's so much happier. It's a tough job of course but he comes home and can relax now. The procedures are so much more streamlined and easy to follow. Scheduling is the usual retail but the schedules are REQUIRED to be set four days in advance every week. Clopens are prohibited by company safety policy, there is always a minimum of 10 hours off between shifts. They are using him at several stores in the area, he has the opportunity to advance based on MERIT and his hard work is paying off. When I worked with him he was treated like crap because he wasn't part of some stupid clique. It was all too common. He actually made the move two years ago simply because he was fed up with crap technology and two-faced leadership.

Whole Foods Market's arrogant disregard for customer safety and shareholder value is appalling. This arrogance that characterizes WFM upper corporate echelon will be the downfall of the brand and ultimately the business itself. If they think the public isn't paying attention they are wrong. If you currently work for WFM get out now if you can(and don't go to 365!) before it becomes a complete embarrassment to even be associated with them. It's better to sweep floors and clean toilets at a well run, reputable business than to sit with corporate criminals

The worst food poisoning I've ever had has come from eating prepared food items from the hot food bar from my store in SW region.

Also had horrible food poisoning from the in-house prepared sausage and bacon from the meat dept.

Pathetic. Where is the accountability? This I'd a matter of public trust and confidence. Lannon and Meyer? Gallo? Robb? Stop admiring yourselves in the mirror at retail investment conferences and do your damn jobs. Lazy entitled jerks. If you didn't know about this. you SHOULD have.

Where's the crisis team when you need 'em? Quick! Let's bring in some more track lighting and unique products like Starkey. Also, let's ask Wall Street for another $billion. We'll need it to prop up the stock for another few minutes and settle the impending shareholder lawsuit over this latest debacle.
