Teams to be consolidated in NA region possibly starting in October. Tl jobs to get cut.
If you love the grocery business then stay in the business but GET OUT. Talk to some competitors and find out how they operate. Think about everything: The layout, pricing, the customer base, the current products, new products, talk to their employees and department managers, look at their technology, scales, the cleanliness of the cases, how the shelves look at all times of day. Ask if the back of house is cramped or easy to navigate and well-organized? Visit different stores in various cities. Also look at how long they've been in business and ask about their expansion plans. Pick the best of the best and then go for it. Good luck.
If you are in the MW Region and they offer you severance, take it and don't look back. It is a terrible feeling knowing that you are one step away from getting the axe, and even if you were to be kept on, YOU would be the person that would have to pick up the slack from your former co-workers.
The cuts WFM really needs to make are at the very top corporate levels. Why aren't we seeing any accountability for the FDA debacle? Why wasn't C. Minardi fired over the NE weights and measures scandal? No, they'll hold on to all the worst of them and until all the good people are gone. Then what?
This really should be much of a surprise, and I am sure it will trickle down to all the stores especially now that the stock is going to tank and the stores will lose even more business. Chipotle still hasn't recovered from their public safety issue. I actually find it all quite humorous how clueless the regional idiots are. You cannot leverage labor to the bone and expect the things not to happen or be "surprised" when they do.
