Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Greensboro

They are closing the site, more empty seats than employees, parking lot more than half empty, 1/4 of the building is already closed down. You must be waiting for that package huh for confirmation?

This may be a factor in the automation - bank invested big in Spredfast. Spredfast’s 650 customers include Bank of America, etc. http://fortune.com/2016/06/01/spredfast-social-marketing-software-specialist/

The only reason 1/4 of the building is closed is because another company was moving into that area and backed out of the contract with the leasing company at the last minute. There is something happening in 2017.. not sure what, but my manager kind of three it out there and then changed subject in a team meeting. He also let it slip that there's a big plan for the banks processes to go automated, and keep about 2% FTE to make sure it runs well and to do the back line work.

Renewing a lease means nothing. The Getzville site's lease was renewed and BOA let another bank...M&T.... Come in and buy them out of their lease. A stipulation was that all employees had to interview with M&T so that they could have the pick of who they wanted to hire. If you did not interview you did not get severeigns pkg. if you were offered a position and did not accept....you did not get a pkg. Believe Me, they can work around a renewed lease. Do not let that make you feel like GSO is good.

According to county records, the lease was renewed on 6/11/15 and runs until 6/10/2022.

I find it hard to believe that they can close Greensboro and Beach Street, then again if the plan is to sell servicing rights there will not be much of a portfolio to service
