Combi-teams coming.

Combi-teams coming soon across the board for small stores. Get out because there will be no severance, based on what another posting started.

Which means they will be starting in this year 2016 at least for the first wave. Some regions are trying to push it forward faster and if it's handled anything like the layoff it will get pushed forward nationwide.

The fiscal year begins in October not in January.

I just heard our regional president is making a visit to all the stores in Tucson and he never comes, what now?

Poster below got calendar dates wrong. Dollar numbers are referring to average sales per week. Stores that average over $900k/week will not be combining teams according to this plan. Dates I have been told differ slightly, also. Perhaps I am in a different region? But, nevertheless, I was told that this is a plan from Global that will be carried out company-wide. For example, in my region stores in the $650-900k bracket are supposed to combine somewhere between the end of Q1FY2017 (in January 2017) and the end of FY2018 (fall of calendar year 2018.)

<$400k - By end of Q1 FY17 (this should read Jan 2017, not 2016)

<$400-650k - By end of Q1 FY18 (this should read Jan 2018, not 2017)

<$650-900k - By end of Q1 FY19 (this should read Jan 2019, not 2018)

I'll leave this here, this is based on fact (internal only document) and not hearsay

All stores $900k or under will be converting with the following timelines

<$400k - By end of Q1 FY17 (Jan 2016)

<$600-650k - By end of Q1 FY18 (Jan 2017)

<$900k - By end of Q1 FY19 (Jan 2018)

This is company wide and not based on any one region.

They will call it Grocery, lol. Just like every other grocery store in the land. Grocery, Meat, Produce & Prepared Foods. The end.

Re post: 5ogr ---The least of your concerns should be what these new combi-teams are called. Don't you realize you might be out of a job? Who cares what ridiculous acronyms they come up with to describe the merged departments!? Don't waste your creative energy thinking up names, use it to find a better job with a better company

OK, I am a WBTL. What I really want to know is what we are going to call a combined GROC-WBOD-SPEC team? With GROC and WBOD combo calling it GroBody sounds good. It has a nice ring to it, don't you think? But with SPEC in there? I am stumped. Folks, we need awesome names for the teams of the future! (And beyond.)

Just had a TL meeting in SoPac. our store does over a million, our STLs told us that 2-3 years down the road, all stores will be combined. they want me (Whole body TL) to work in Specialty and grocery once in a while as a training. so when that does happen, we are all trained for all 3 departments! WTF

SoPac having TL meeting's today. Stores under $650k will combine PFDS & BAK and GRO/WB/SPEC.

For sure happening in SoPac. They are looking to make the transition after inventory.

Definitely happening in the MW Region. I was told the sales threshold currently is $650k a week. That is most of the stores in the region especially with all the expansion that's happened over the last year. I was told FY 18 is when it's supposedly taking place. Stores better start improving sales next FY to avoid this happening.

Totally happening. Our TL group had the meeting today in the office building down the way. It doesn't sound terrible though. It sounds like they have a lot of time to figure out how things will work out.

We discussed a few areas of change at our recent SPLN in the middle of last week, one area is that more stores and team leaders will be affected

No evidence here, just speculation, but I'd bet all stores eventually will go to the combined format, and may further combine departments later on. As with anything else in the company, the time frame is "eventually", plus a six week delay or two just for good measure.

As a buyer, I assume that a computer program will replace me within the next two years. Do yourself a favor and read through any global update releases to get an idea of what they are planning. For instance, the latest DVO release mentioned what to me sounded like an order assist program that would pilot in 365 stores sometime in the next year. If that's the case one can only imagine it will come to us once they get it working properly.

SP was/is based on 400k and they did a few "test" stores above that, closer to 800k. Maybe they will be pushing the baseline to that 800k model?

in s

In sopac the number is 500k or less a week for teams to be combined.

This is old news and its already happening. 500k is the number I know of and makes more sense. 800k is a scary baseline. That's a lot of store. But you never know, we could eventually transition to the 365 model that is based off our UK stores. Best be ready to assume more responsibilities. Tighten up your boot straps.

Recent combined GroBody TL interviews in SP were delayed pending new information which is not yet solidified, they will not discuss further until a solid plan and information are in place. My gut tells me the interviews were delayed because the amount of team leaders affected will be more and they want those team leaders a part of the combined GroBody re-interview process. Will other teams combine? Who knows at this point but other theories have included bakery and prepared foods

Wow, if the sales numbers are real for combining ($750-800K or less) that means my store and every other store close by in our region will be cutting TMs. I don't know any store near us since February making more in sales than that.

That's why all the TLs are so beat down looking since the middle of June. Must have been when they found out.

Management doesn't see combining teams as a mistake. There are many many stores doing 750k or less. Once they make it work in those stores they will make it work everywhere. Just get the product on the shelf, do your shift and go home. That's how they see it. You are just a clerk with no involvement whatsoever. Their ideal is to combine as many teams as possible.

those numbers all seem high for combining teams. my store makes 600-750k a week and we are very financilally sound in all areas. would be a mistake to combine teams here

They will base it off sales per week as averaged for the year.a whole lotta stores doing less than 750k per week in this company.

I was about to ask the same question. My store isn't small in size but sales are not good. They're probably going to base it off sales per week.
