Morale

I'm curious to know how the morale is in different stores around the country. I work in the south region, Atlanta, (JC) to be exact. The morale in my store has gone down tremendously along with sales. One tm is doing the work of 3 tms, no support whatsoever from leadership. Apparently we're doing good "on paper" but others don't really know the struggle. People have quit because of it, found better jobs. I know we're going through a lot changes but it shouldn't be so stressful. My SL could care 2 sh-ts about how we're affected. He doesn't hold TLs accountable and doesn't support ideas from tms. They need to downside on SLs, have a big layoff, make them fight for their jobs, make them run 2 stores at a time. They sure do get paid enough to do so!!!! Ok, my vent session is over :-)

I was an ATL in the NE until about a month ago when I quit to go to a small business. Low doesn't begin to describe the morale up here. It's devastating. Team members were quitting one a week, and leadership are dropping left and right. Now with teams combining it's like the hunger games in the stores. Store leadership is always out to get someone in a way I never saw in the company until about six months ago, the opposite of supportive. Can't even recognize it as the same company from when I started in 2014. Very sad. I don't miss it one bit.

How well can any company do with the massive lost of sales? Run away, burn the bridge and dont look back!

I have seen more TMs at all levels in the store leave in the past 6 months than i have in the past 6 years. I am a TL in Chicago and morale is terrible and not getting any better. Workload on everyone is increased (and will continue to increase) all while wages are stagnant and have fallen significantly behind competitors wages. Crisis of Conscious Leadership.

They're cutting labor so bad in the south region. I'm an ATL and just put my notice in for something better. The TL and I can't even work 40 hrs anymore. Well now he can I guess.

SW region here...Austin metro stores are quiet. TMs with seniority have been concerned since the last cuts in 2015. Leadership puts on a smiley face but it is wearing off as time rolls on and we keep seeing negative comps. Some people feel that certain something bad is looming around the corner. Specialty is the most concerned as buyer roles are disappearing and a merge with grocery is most likely to happen soon.

All store leadership are really working harder than ever. Finally....😅

MA region here, it's same as it has been. A sh1tstorm for all to see. I'm still the dry grocery buyer but our whole team is now gone fired or quit except for me, the dairy buyer, and our TL who is so incompetent he deserves All*Stars.

NA region morale is pretty bad in my store. Everyone knows more cuts are coming but regional try's to pretend that everyone is going to be fine. You can survive off of $12 an hour right ?

I think you just got a ASTL from my store in SC. If you did he's worthless, but he doesn't micro manage.

I also work in florida region and morale and comps are terrible.stores cutting labor because they cant figure how to make more money coming in the door and still gotta pay the track lighting electric bills.i dont really feel sorry for many of the tl's with the combo team change-some of them were the biggest a-- kissers around, along with the astl's.it would be nice to see stl's have to go to the metro format and "take ownership" of more than on store and really sweat.more work, less a-- kissing or sleeping with david isenhood

Morale is at its lowest at my store in the Fl region and most people in the know are either confused or busy job hunting. The combo teams is the final nail on the coffin.
