Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

MyWork - does this prior comment still hold? Anyone have an UPDATE?

"If it is not on hold, it has slowed down significantly because of issues with space. The only places with room to accommodate people returning from program is Texas. Everywhere else is full or already committed. Means that until they make more space (ie lay more people off since acquiring real estate space is not an option) MW people can expect to stay at home for the foreseeable future."

Coming back to the office has its upside... I no longer put in 60 to 80 hour work weeks. My building is mostly contractors - they arrive at 9, leave at 4:15 to catch the bus ( next bus doesn't leave until 5:15). Worst is I'm surrounded by non programmers always chatting on the phone with the speaker phone on, who ignore me when I politely ask them to turn it off. I don't know these folks - my own team is in another time zone. Bad for the bank because I'm not able to concentrate and am far less productive. Good for me because I was so grateful for MyWork that I gave the bank everything for the privilege of working from home. Now I have a life again. I don't understand what the motivation was on their part... Pretty dumb move.. it set me free.

HR is a bunch of bumbling idiots who wouldn't have the first clue of how to implement a smooth transition for MyWork resources returning to the office. And the managers are even more clueless. Brian and all his yes men and women had no idea how to manage that program. BAC had a very mixed bag of MyWork employees. Some were very responsible and went the extra mile to make sure they were really productive and others viewed it as a way to get by doing as little as possible. The problem is that managers had no idea how to determine if their people were being productive since they did not understand what their team members did and they knew even less about managing high performing teams. I knew several managers who were MyWork employees and were the least productive of all. It became a culture of I won't tell if you won't tell for which executive management was ridiculously unaware.

I've heard it was a total hr snafu, people made to come in, buildings are full and costs going thru the roof.
