You mean I don't have to walk a guest to the bread with a freakin red carpet and endure a droning conversation about how they are going gluten free because of their digestive issues? No more parades with the entitled zombies WFM unintentionally helped create! Sounds good to me.

The folks that shop our stores need to grow up and WFM needs to encourage folks to roam the aisles. Maybe then they will impulse buy more often.

It is turning from WFM (Whole Foods Market) into WFT (Whole Foods Target): automated replenishment buying, overnight stockers, and very little customer service.

Truth... not many trolls. Go back to September through October posts. So many people posted about more cuts coming after holidays and so on. Yet nobody would believed them. It will be just like Target and Kroger in near future yet no union so you can negotiate change and will just be slacking more organic items. Real simple.

Whole Foods Market, as it once was, is now gone in all but name. If your position doesn't fit with the 365 model, start looking for a new job now. Don't wait. This Titanic has already hit the iceberg and just because you can't see the water pouring in yet doesn't mean it isn't sinking. Get out now.

Wasn't at all surprised for two reasons.

One, its Whole Foods and the so called leaders will never hold themselves accountable or fall on the sword. The hard working team members and now leaders at store level will always be the scape goats for all that is wrong with the company.

Two, read post from this site that stated this was happening. There are trolls on every site and people just wanting to spread rumors but i am convinced there's more truth on this site than lies. Thank you wfm insides for leaking information that our so called leadership withhold, because they are not decent human beings.

By the way, anyone else tired of seeing social media posts from Store leaders, regional leader's, etc, living it up on company dime. They're always like, i have the Best job. Maybe because you dont do sheet.

The way this was explained to me was all stores under 400 are combining immediately. All stores under 650 by January. All stores under 900 by following January. Supposedly the consulting firm found costs cutting negligible for stores above 900 and are keeping all department team leader structure we currently have. Combo teams are grocery/whole body with specialty being added later, meat/seafood, and bakery/deli will combine later but eventually.

This is how target runs its super stores. Teams are deli/bakery produce/meat and beauty/grocery. Only one team lead per team. All product is scanned by team members all have their own devices. The only product that is ordered by team members is ingredients used for cake decorating and baking. All product that isn't made in store is stocked by a team overnight and pars are established by sales and it's all electronic. Didn't a big wig from target recently join whole foods? I worked for whole foods as a team leader for three years and am currently with super target.

First I heard about ATL's, did you hear this specifically or is this just conjecture on your part. Please be honest. I'm a TL and I'm willing to bet this is not a thing

It's defiantely happening I'm a team leader and it was addressed to us all today that all stores are combining teams everywhere within the company. Not much was said by out Stl's because they won't know more until the end of august when they return from MALN.

What we do know is new stores will also have combo teams, teamleaders will have to interview against each other and so will ATL'S. NO knowledge of severance whether you want to contiinue with the company or not.

you also will have a choice of working elsewhere in the store if there is any other dept. hiring or try and get a job in another store all together. Auto replenishment is coming soon there will eventually be no buyers in the stores. team members can be crosstrained if they'd like to be to be more useful. its going to turn into a huge sh-- show people!

what's going to hppen is they will lose a lot of valuable knowledgable team members and replace them with team members that have no knowledge or basic knowledge so they can pay them min. wage. customer service will be miminal and customers will stop shopping at WFM because they will not be getting the same expert advice and being educated about the products we carry especially in wholebody.

They are trying to save themselves from what they got themselves in so deeply and this is the the straw they have drawn to stay afloat without completely sinking.

The morale is going to start getting worse and worse. Get your resumes together and start looking for another job.

They are already harrassing and forcing the top earners out. this company lost all it's core values and they do not give a damn about any of us at store level or regional level.

to the last comment... Yes, yes and YES. You hit every angle.. Anyone who understands business , finance and labor structure would understand that this is the only option whole foods has to stay relevant. Whole foods has realized they are not special and they are going to start acting like a regular grocery store.. Perpetual inventory, part timers over full time, limited leadership... I appreciate all the people who are scared they are going to lose their jobs , but ignoring or challenging the people trying to give you legitimate information is not going to help. Truly assess where you are in this company and whether or not you are doing a job that could be eliminated ..

Some stores at all sales volumes have been testing the combinations for awhile now. Labor plans showed the cuts and details over two years ago. Just goes to show how many people do not read financial reports that are accessible to them. First phase is low volume, then medium volume, then million dollar stores. All will combine. Everyone remember unification? Think hard? The reason for unification was to make every single store in the company the same. Why? To go to a full automatic ordering system similar to other corporations where they don't need buyers, once an item sells the register recognizes it vs. sales and knows when to automatically order. This has been in the works for 3 years now. Then Whole Foods can globally buy for all Regions cutting cost like Costco making prices cheaper. Why the wait, it takes time and a few years for this system to get accurate movement to order properly. Think this is just the beginning, don't count on it! For all of those who blame Regional, there teams have been evaluated as well and cut to extreme. Global hired an outside company to evaluate positions and restructure, many have left or lost their jobs due to it. Soon I am sure we will mainly only have a Global Office and a Global distribution center, all Regional teams will be cut to PT just like store, pure truck to shelf no more customer service. Don't believe me, dig into financial reports for the past 2 years. Read about the technology on financial websites aimed towards the investors. Don't be dumb! Small written rule, severance was only offered at the beginning as this is considered a continuance legally so it doesn't have to be offered anymore. Since Whole Foods want to tun into a corporate big house hit them with Union. Trust me I am against Unions for the most part, but when you no longer have a voice as least it can be used to negotiate. At least if you had a Union, you could negotiate severance right now! Unless you really want to sit back and keep watching. I will watch while the stock still goes down as it will be a good 5 years until Whole Foods becomes a powerhouse again once all of this transformation is done. When is drops below $28.00 I will purchase a ton of stock and sit on it. At least get something out of a company that once cared about its core values and those that made it special. GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN! The facts are all around you just dig!

Its happening in the NA also. They give it 3 years and every store -big and small -will have combined teams.

How it was explained to me... Grocery/ whole body/ specialty....

Seafood/meat...

The only true legit details so far is they are going to attempt to fan team leaders out to new opportunities.. Sadly it is really happening.. Just the details of it have not been disclosed. So if you are pro active you will start weighing out your options.. If you are not you can hang around and hope you come out the other end employed.
