SSS Position Rumors

Hey everyone

Has anyone heard about anything going on with the Store Scan Specialist prosition being cut soon. It feels like with the R10 register systems being installed there is no need for the position anymore

The idea that the SSS does not hang tags is a complete fiction. That may be the desired goal, but in practice, departments would not get the job done. You can yell, stomp your feet, plead, beg, whatever, but with our moronic non-leadership always changing prices sometimes twice in one day, those adjusted shelf tags MUST be posted. I know this is true because I used to work closely with the SSI and later, the SSS. By the way, the changes to registers are totally pie-in-the-sky. As long as IRMA exists, it's all just public relations -- painting a smiley face over a permanently broken system. This is what happens when incompetent leaders hire ten million dollar consultants and a big publicity push begins at financial media. The goal: Sell investors on the notion that we're going to make all these big changes, then quietly move the go-live date on those projects further and further into the future while we cash out.

What in the world would a new register have to do with eliminating the SSS? The SSS hangs sale tags and make sure things have correct prices.

The SSS position is mainly to Audit prices and weights. With the new registers system, Regional teams now check pricing, and with MARS becoming more user friendly, weight and price scan audits will be given to the department teams to do. SSS's do not hang sale tags, that is a department's responsibility

"In the NA region, they split the position into MSI and SSS. But with everything happening and alot of the work is being outsourced to other companies, i see MSI and SSS being canned very soon"

same in the south. i see that happening too. MSI's have a pretty sweet deal... them and metro marketing TL are currently the jobs to have - these guys have it pretty damn good, for now.

Every region did something different the last time. Some got rid of the SSIs completely, and some others created a different position called SSS that took the place of the SSI. I bet all of these positions will be gone soon.
