I was recently told after calling many stores looking for a Whole Body item that regional is making decisions on dumping items left and right. It's a frantic move to try and save money. Just like all of the other frantic decisions that have been made.

@5wcn- I second that. As a buyer I can attest to how often things are "accidentally discontinued" and sometimes come back months later, sometimes not at all. Then there's package and upc changes, warehouse discos, long term out of stocks... not saying it's all the company's fault, but yes, at any given time we are missing many things we shouldn't be.

Oh no ...regional trolling again. There are many reasons things fall off the shelves...sometimes it because the copany doesn't want to raise our margin share...etc..or won't send reps to do openings etc..don't kid yourselves...I have top sellers gone.

Not true. None of what any of you are saying is true. Things get dropped because they don't have the numbers. What matters is dollars earned, not how many times somebody asks you for something on your shifts.

And the "yes men" that they hire for TLs or STLs only parrot regional talking points to angry or frustrated customers..and when the customer gets to the front end we hear them griping amongst themselves and how much they didnt buy the stls explanation..lol..keep hiring dolts and you dumb down everything

Planograms have taken very popular items off of our shelves. Guests are going elsewhere. TMs tried to address the issues but management insists on planograms that exclude items. I thought for sure a void report would send the message to regional/global...but nope. So very sad. Years with this company and I see so many bad decisions being made everyday now.

I second that. This is definitely a typical day....no longer carry very popular products and selection keeps getting cut. I was beginning to wonder if it was just the location where I work so it's nice to know this is happening company wide. I've been with Whole Foods for 10 years and it is certainly not the place it once was. Unfortunately things are not improving and the higher ups don't seem to be doing anything about it. Those of us at the store level are taking the heat from the poor decisions being made at the top.
