Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

WFM Workers Union

The CEO has described unions as herpes. He did not feel like a union was necessary because team members were treated well. I think the 4000k health insurance deductible, cuts in gainsharing due to shrinking labor budgets, and increased workload has made it apparent that things need to change. This board will be lit up in a few weeks when announced layoffs before fiscal year happen. I think there is enough people on this board to start the process of forming a union. This will stick it to Global. Here is a link below. Because Global trolls this site, do not share your email, identity, or contact info with anyone if you are intersted.

No long term team members will side with the union sadly. Myself included. We've seen to many friends go for bullshit reasons. We know signing union papers means youre instantly out of a job. I wouldnt doubt it were some CEO or regional planting the idea of unionizing. Sounds like a good excuse to trap high paid employees. Good thing we know how to survive the bullshit. At least for a little longer..

RIP Whole foods. I miss what you were.

Yes. If there's any hope for WFM as a workplace, this MUST happen. Please, don't just post on some obscure message board like this; discuss it with your fellow TMs, get as many people in your store onboard with the idea as possible, and then spread it to your next nearest store if possible. Use social media to network with other concerned TMs (current and former) as well as customers.

Like someone already said, the only way unionization will happen is with overwhelming numbers... Emphasis on "overwhelming". Ideally, you want it so huge they have a potential media fiasco on their hands unless they actually listen. It can happen, too. I know there are enough people who care about what Whole Foods Market is supposed to be to make it happen.

a good start is by collecting signatures. not just from employees, but members of community, customers, friends, locals, etc.

should have unionized years ago. several stores tried to over the years and always got slammed by union busters. the way to unionize succesfully is with numbers.

Those so called votes are bs choices what we are really voting for is how much less we want That the corporate overlords say we can or can not have. Thing is all we end up voting for is less of the slice of the pie! There isn't enough kook-aid for workers to keep falling for that disengenius bull, is there? I hope not! Yes, we do need to form a union its not going to get better at WF unless we workers stand up for ourselves!

Seems like that florida distribution center leadership could get a labor lawsuit against wholefoods for that firing

Maybe someone at the DIstribution Center in Florida can chime in and let us know how their attempts to unionize went a few months back.

My understanding is that leadership was fired when word got around.

Who remembers when tmag people used to do things for team members??we need the collective bargaining power especially in regards to our benefits and how they are structured..those votes are a bullshit way of "leadership" taking "ownership" for screwing us out of benefits to build more underperforming stores
