The trouble with the Wild Oats acquisition was that while our company was telling EVERYONE how special we were, how we were changing the world and not like other stores, we were trying to lie to the JUDGE by saying "we're nothing special so it's not a monopoly. We're JUST ANOTHER GROCERY STORE so it doesn't matter that the two leading natural/organic brands were trying to form a monopoly." The judge didn't find the disconnect very amusing.

What about the investors who bought at close to $70 and are now down to $29? That was back in the Conscious Capitalism era when the sky was the limit.

they also bought other companies for that growth...whole foods tried that once and was stop gapped by the FCC because the merger with Wild Oats would have made a monopoloy accrding to the gov't...boy didn't that BS stink like something foul...

They aren't crushing anything except gullible investors' portfolios.

crushing it? Missed lowered sales expectation, but reiterated long term growth. No one will remember that BS line when they don't, how can they reiterate long term growth when they can't predict 3 months out? Like a weatherman giving you a 10 day forecast when they can't get it right past 2 days...they also bought back 1.1 billion in stock and the stock is still down 35%....yeah, crushing it....
