Major labor fraud in the Mid Atlantic region

About half a dozen, and soon to be more STLs and ASTLs in the mid Atlantic were fired for labor fraud. They wanted to look good and make it as if all teams were meeting labor. So they shuffled labor from team to team. This affects gainsharing so team members were screwed out of it in certain departments. Should team members file a class action so it in investigated and they get back pay? How long has this been going on? Media should hear about this

look, they are moving people around to other stores. like Catholic priests going to new parishes.

If you put enough pressure on people, they will work around rules. S--- IT UP becomes COVER IT UP.

Don't go into leadership. It's not worth it. Better to be a cartwrangler, you will never be let go.

6rbq--I agree with doing away with gainsharing, it give false hope to TM's especially new TM's as well as create a false sensehood of " ONE STORE, ONE TEAM". That concept is the biggest pile of crap, especially for the teams that do work hard as compared to lazy teams/people/ leadership. Go to a merit based yearly bonus system.

I don't understand why everyone thinks this is so wrong or a scam. I think it is a smart business decision and all stores should do it. Aren't some stores already at one store one labor budget? Gain sharing is a joke, the two main teams that get it (whole body and specialty) are the laziest teams in the store. They don't work for gain sharing, it is handed to them. Granted whole body has to have a lot of knowledge but what good is it if they are hanging out in the backroom or roaming the store chatting all day. The three teams that work the hardest and get pretty much nothing is prep foods, produce and grocery. I get why labor was cut, too many people standing around doing nothing ruined it for all of us while the hard workers continued to be overworked to pick up their slack. I would rather see gain sharing go away and give back a few more labor hours to prep foods, produce and grocery. The rest of the teams have all the labor they need. I still see them standing around doing nothing while my team is busting it trying to get it done. To those of you in WB and specialty that are hard workers ^5 to you, there are a few on each team and I do not mean to offend you. To all the lazy workers, I do mean to offend you, WFM pays well whether you like what they are doing or not so earn it and stop putting your burden on your co workers, that is who you are hurting, not WFM.

We are still doing this every week at my store. I thought it was allowed. You get the pink slip if you miss labor!

A bunch of us in my region filed suit for back pay gainsharing owed. It took a long time to work its way through the courts. And the lawyers took a big piece of the settlement. We collected bigly, and we got free pizza.

It did indeed happen in the SW. STL has moved on to the competition.

In florida region they have every team donate part of their gainsharing to a store pool system..its supposedly voluntary but they want every team to submit to this..as if we were gonna get gainsharing anymore...that labor budget formula loves to skim off the top for wall street year after year

This goes on in every region. There is no reason accepted for missing labor. What about team members forced to use PTO time to make labor or live with the stress and aggravation from store leadership!

If it has been happening in Mid Atlantic for years, then why are there just now getting fired?

Can't say how many years this has been happening in stores all across the MA. At least since 2004, it is considered normal and any PBS knows about it because they're the ones having to shuffle it as per STL demands.

This happens in SP as well. My STL always took away my labor pool to bail out another team. Even now that we are the market team, we still have to bail others departments, he depends on us banking to bail them out.

Yep. One store gainshare promised an average of over $1/hr per TM in most stores. Total lie. Going into the holidays and we're getting nothing because they yanked the targets down so low. Now several teams might still make labor but because the overall store misses, nobody gets anything.

this stuff will continue to happen as regional cuts labor while maintaining and even increasing requirements. store leadership is desperate to "just make it happen" as regional loves to put it. f---ing idiots. lookin at you south region leadership. f--- you.
