Team Leader Survey- anyone wonder why they have not done one this year??? So much to say and I do not think they want to hear any of it.

Just announced that Team Leader Surveys are out and a new culture survey will replace it. Team members have 3 weeks to get the new style survey filled out. I'm glad to see the old surveys go away. As a team leader, I don't receive bad reviews, just nonsense answers for the parts that the team members were able to type into. My favorite was "TL spends too little time in dept" followed up on next line with "TL spends too much time in dept and makes makes me nervous"

And I hope they get rid of the team vote as well. To have people that don't even know what your job is rate you on how well you are doing it is empowering them to be managers. If they were managers it would make sense. To have regular people unfairly rate others is ridiculous. People are opinionated and have their own issues and should not be able to hold another person's job for ransom. Otherwise everyone should be a manager. Clearly this is not the case. I understand it was to promote harmony in teams but I do not feel that works this way at all.

It's true, the surveys were a waste of time. It was sad when a disgruntled team member could put a bunch of lies about their Team Leader, Associate Team Leader or even the Store Team Leader into is survey without any fact checking. Before you know it, the head of HR is in your store interrogating store leadership! It was never good to see HR in your store and it was always very disruptive to the entire store. It sad to see how far Whole Foods has gone down hill in such a short time!😩 The great atmosphere that once was the hallmark, besides the great food, seems to have been ripped from their employees psyche.Sad.......

Will Whole Foods be around in the near future for more surveys makes me wonder.

The TL survey and the morale survey are both a bunch of hooey. They don't accomplish anything and cost a fortune. I am glad they stopped them.

There are a bunch of other initiatives that are a waste of money that should be stopped, also: Green Trek, immersion programs, regional and global All-Star awards, CCP- certified cheese professionals, day 1 and day 30, mandatory trainings for EVERY team member over and over on tons of different things (like the yearly benefits, semi yearly benefits vote, the recent panic food safety stuff), endless meetings and conference calls training on things that could be summed up in a word doc or a powerpoint, and if I sat here I could come up with many more. Time s---s and money wasters all.

Probably because your TLs are having just as hard of a time as you. It would be unfair to the TLs to have a TL survey filled out in the months following the mass layoff (restructure) because they would be held accountable for the reduction in force that they were not responsible for.

In reality though, the lack of TL survey was not out of fairness to the TLs, but because upper management knows it would be a massive waste of money to make a charade out of what was already a charade.

That don't care and they don't listen it's why they are in such bad shape! Not listening to the boots on the ground!

If I remember correctly, there was some info distributed awhile back about the surveys. I know they were really expensive to do. There is supposed to be a new system coming In the next year that will be more efficient and won't take as long. Before they were being handled by a company that had to process all the feedback and info and it took months for the results to come out. This new system is supposed to have a faster turnaround time. But as with so many WFM "innovations," time will tell if it's actually an improvement or money saver.

No morale survey either. I guess the truth hurts.
