Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

TL Layoffs

TLs are going to receive an offer similar to previous layoffs. take a huge paycut and stay on board, or leave with some cash. Next 180 days. Goal is to be in line with typical market manager pay at other grocers. No more $50k retail management jobs at wf unless you're stl level.

posted this in another comment by mistake, sorry for the duplicate.

So if this does happen, what will happen to long time, full timer team members?

I cam from WFM and retailers are ready and waiting for the most experienced TLs (yes that includes target and walmart )Those of you have some of the best experienced coming from the most copied retailer in the world....don't forget that if things don't work out.

they need to continue bringing in outside talent from retailers like target and walmart. these guys know how to do business. top wfm leadership has too many old hippies that are only there cause they've been with wfm for 30 years. these idiots are running this business into the ground. bring in the professionals seriously.

and to hell with the "culture", or what's left of it - i want money and job security. take green mission, shove it up your (), and give me the labor to hire a full-timer.

If my grocery TL is offered a severance I'll defecate in my pants. He's the worst, most detrimental, awful thing that ever "happened" to our team & if they pay him to leave it's the end.

Rahodeb be running things now! Mackey ain't going out without an organic power move! 10mil and a discount...you want kale with that...now back to the west coast and think about what didn't happen. I've got to get my spiral dynamics back in motion.

Just don't see how Kroger can take on this one. But who knew Walter will be out that fast. Lol! The investors will push for the Fresh Market kind of deal. It will make more strategic sense.

Sorry gang but Publix' department managers can make around $60k depending on volume and they get regular stock grants (not stupid options but stock itself). These ARE norms for companies that are successful. In case y'all haven't noticed -- we are NOT successful and that's why pay and benefits are being cut.

Exactly, you make a statement but you didn't give your source. I can come on here and say anything, doesn't make it true.

Well, if we asked Walter Robb a few weeks ago he would have sounded opportunistic as well till he was given a modest golden parachute and given a red card. The choice is yours, either wake up or continue to live in denial land but when the fat ladies from Team member services call on you, all backup options will disappear.

"But our pay and benefits more than make up for it." the utterly dominating work schedule that comes along with retail management is in no way worth that. hardly exhilarating.

Im gonna ride this train till it crashes. I have a solid back up plan but it's all still very terrifying considering where we came from.

We expect a lot. But we give a lot, too.

We'll be upfront; this exhilarating retail management career has an ever changing schedule and dynamic workload. But our pay and benefits more than make up for it. New Mates typically earn between $40,000 and $75,000 a year (based on our 47.5 hours work week). In addition to a fun work environment, you can also expect two consecutive days off - a rarity with other retailers!

Walter Robb just got the boot, so start cleaning up your offices arrogant Mackey is coming for your a-- very soon and he has no reservations, he will go down with this ship 6 feet under.
