Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Be thankful

It has been a rough few years at BofA and as angry or frustrated as you may be, please take some time to be thankful especially during the holiday season. Whether you still have a job, were laid off recently and still looking or concerned about an upcoming layoff, it is important to focus on the positive. If you still have a job, great. If you were laid off and are collecting severance, be thankful for the severance since not everyone is getting that and if you are not on severance or still looking, be thankful that you have skills to market. It may seem dismal as many companies slow their hiring during the holiday season so use the time to update your resume and network and by all means try to look past a temporary setback and enjoy some time with your family and friends. From someone who has been there, things will get better and you may find something you like even better in a less hostile environment where you are appreciated and enjoy your work. This time of year is difficult enough for many without the added burden of a job loss. If you are feeling distraught enough to consider what for some may be unthinkable and feel you have nowhere else to turn, there is a Suicide Hotline: 1-800-273-8255 and surely there are people in your life who care and want to help. Please don't apply a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

It seems high time that some one could go under cover and expose what is really happening at the largest bank in the country, are there running bit of a sweat shop and then crying to the feds for money and a big fat bail out? Writing executives up for communication errors with f*ing india I as in insane - N as in Nuts - D as in dumb--sh-- - i as in idiotic - A as in A-- backwards, taking away retirement packages by firing them 2 days before they they turn 65 and that kind of stuff? Training non native speakers to speaking workers to do the the job, sending more money over seas? How many people have actually retired from B of A numbers please???No more bail out the next time- no more government help ever.

the real idiot is you nobody else, if anybody wants to commit suicide because they lost a job they better not live..cause to live is much harder than dying, those people want the easy way out....positive people will always find a way to come on top.yes its hard to get laid off but life is not over

OP- disregard the idiot that keeps posting to you. We have someone here on this site that comments multiple times to the same posts with idiotic responses over and over again. Your post probably did help someone. It is an EXTREMELY stressful situation to be in, especially with a family and kids. This is not a situation most people envision happiness when thinking about. It is a horrible place to be. and I have been there.

Wasn't trying to tell you what you can or cannot comment on, just saying if you don't agree you don't have to be nasty, you can just move along. Obviously that will be lost on some who have nothing better to do than troll boards looking for things to complain about. And apparently there is some correlation between job loss and suicide. Not for stoic, rock solid people like you, but for some. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/feb/11/unemployment-causes-45000-suicides-a-year-worldwide-finds-study

in response to the last comment, we live in usa and we have freedom speech, who are you to tell us where we can comment, we are not working in B of A anymore so why should we follow the rules. this is a board and nobody can restrict anybody. i believe that getting suicide hotline # is very shameful cause, who commits suiicide for losing a job , i mean come on, u get ur unemployment and probably severance.

For those that responded with such hostility, I am sorry you are so inclined to be mean but some people have a really hard time with layoffs and for some this may be the first time. I agree there is life after BofA and I am thoroughly enjoying it but I know some are struggling and feeling really desperate so I wanted to offer some encouragement. For those with the bitter responses, you may have lost your heart and soul at BofA but mine is still in tact and I am still capable of compassion for those who are feeling down and think a little kindness goes a long way. I am glad to hear everything in your world is so perfect that no encouraging words are needed so please feel free to skip over the post and move on to the more angry bitter posts that seem better suited to your needs. If it helps 1 person, it was worth it.

Yes, I'm thankful for no longer having to work with a team of cut throat kiss a-- lackies who can only get ahead by stepping on those around them that may be better than themselves. People that point out and exploit the weaknesses in others are themselves insecure and ineffective and this is their way of hiding their inner flaws, weaknesses and incompetence from the world. They're basically diverting attention from themselves so that no-one dares and is too afraid to look and be critical of them.
