The Merrill Tech hierarchy is the management hierarchy - it must be preserved at all costs. All the good professional IT people are long gone but the hierarchy still remains strong, even with teams of 1 or 2 employees. Kind of explains the poor performance relative to the competition. Useless hierarchys serve only the ambitions of those cut-throat brown-nosers and do nothing for the business goals and customers.

Include management to the list... terrible as ever. They don't know or do anything, and they delegate their own work to subordinates. They also love to hear themselves talk SHYT.

Layoffs seemed to have slowed down since Trump became the Know-Nothing Know-It-All President.

Yes. I'm sure they are getting rid of the good people in the org and keeping the bad ones in Merrill (as you believe). I'm sure it doesnt have to do with business needs and what level of support is needed. Maybe you can join in California's secession.

They are still terrible at architecture, coding, testing, security and common sense. Other than that they are OK.

So no Merrill Tech layoffs so far this year! Got to maintain that bloated hierarchy somehow!
