Maybe you guys don't get the same emails I do, as I am lucky to have an STL who is very open and sharing and ahead of what is coming our way, but there are regular updates from global or regional on the team merging topic. ASTLs/STLs get a lot of this stuff and some share and some don't so why don't you be proactive and ask for more info? Ditto for more recent stuff like the TM Commitment global letter, OTS (Order To Shelf required buyers procedures), SLAW, etc. The blanket emails I get have a lot of info but tough questions are not usually answered in these mass emails. For the nitty gritty I go to my STL because they get the real deal in their conference calls, as the STLs who are worth a crap ask tough questions, and all the STLs hear the answers. You need to go dig for the info instead of just waiting for it to fall on you like rain.

So, to answer the first question, in our region we are told that a TL who interviews for a combined TL job and does not get it will be placed on the combined team as an ATL at the maximum pay for an ATL, if they want to do so. You can ask for the pay ranges for every position in your region from your TL or ASTL. They are not a secret.

And of course people who quit don't get a severance...you are nuts if you think otherwise.

Yeah, there are going to be less positions available with 200 out of 450 stores going combined, but that still leaves a lot of jobs at a company that is better than anywhere I worked at before now. So I am hanging in there as I don't see much better in my area.

They had three options: 1) find another equal position at another store, 2) step dwn n become any lower position than TL like ATL, Buyer, supervisor or TM and 3) just get out. Hence there is no severance package because they are making the decision to leve. Oh attrition they call it but really is just a smart way to fire people wo paying them a dime.
