Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

News report came out that 365 organic vegetables actually comes from China?!

Almost all of 365 brand organic vegetables including our California brand actually says made in China on the back of the bag. How on earth are we putting the USDA organic symbol on our products when the USDA cant certify anything from China? So much for farm to market, healthy organic food. The USDA had stopped over 260 shipments from China putting it on the "do not distribute" list because of all the pesticides, bacteria and filth found in the products. I am sure that we will be receiving an internal memo about to to handle Guest inquiries about this. I keep trying to stick it out with this company as I have been in a leadership role for years now but sadly, every day I lose more and more faith.

I searched 4 different frozen vegetable labels and none would say product of U.S. Fortunately found one brand that stated product of USA but its highly disappointing none of the other brands could state this. Most refrigerated fruits are from china also. So unfortunate china is so involved in U.S. million dollar food companies. S

We All know Many if not Most products come from China. The issue is if WF or any other US Company is lying & gaslighting the Public. It's not Right. There is So much to worry about Now in this USA, There is No one or Anything you can TRUST anymore & that's So Very Sad.

I was listening to radio that BBC world news comes on. Someone was interviewing a farmer in the north. This particular farmer stated his warehouse of farming with new technology. No earth, no real sun. The company plans on opening many more warehouses. They have enough to source out to Wf, Wm, they named a few other chains. One here in my city. These warehouse farmers are growing produce only. Supposedly investors are feeding them$$. We are eating this organic, warehouse produce NOW❗

Are you sure the product is from China? Vegetables aren't made, but grown. Is it possible the packaging is made in China?

I'm not comfortable with the 365 Tart Cherry juice being sold in plastic bottles. I would like to see a change be made to that juice being sold in glass bottles In the near future.

Does anyone really want to pay extra for vegetables imported from China?

Dollar Tree sells them & I kind of get it once I get past the petrol costs to get them here & still sell them at a profit.

I like with the new s.o.p roll out in our region in florida, the mismanagement doesn't want us to front or block empty shelf spaces or empty sections in produce dept.if an item runs out they want to leave a hole to which I'm hearing customers say "why do I feel like I'm shopping in a soviet grocery store, these shelves are empty???" way to keep your customers satisfied and delighted with the roll out of a hair brain shipping strategy..hell Chinese stores might look better than some ive seen lately.

It's this attitude that's killing wfm. Customers don't care about origin they care about PRICE. With the same money you can fill a cart somewhere else but only get half a cart at wfm.

This arrogance about knowing what's best for the customers needs to change if wfm is to survive.

They don't care about step 4 beef or whatever that special seafood rating is or where their veggies are from. They care about not wanting to pay their whole paycheck.

Chinese veggies....seriously?? Seems a bit hateful to despise food because of it's origin. I heard of some U.S. kitchens that had water from the ceiling dripping into their prepared food....dooooh! That was WFM!

Blue Bell (ice cream company in Texas) killed people with lysteria last summer.

There are organizations all over the world that are authorized to certify farms as organic according to the USDA rules.
