UNFI takes a hit in Whole Foods investment

Ruh-roh. Trouble in paradise. Hmmm.who knew those lofty margins were unsustainable and would lead to infighting..lol.

"The departed Mr. Robb and still hanging on Mr. Gallo could only figure out half of the #1 retail rule... buy low and sell high. When they were ahead of the market they failed to consolidate their buying for their standards. Then the competitors were able to get better buys on like items. Mr. Robb added to the problem by offering false expectations with his repeated predictions of a 1200 store company.

In general todays grocery market does not match well with Wall Street expectations. However the current situation at WFM could have been improved if those calling the shots stepped away form the companies organic Kool Aid fountain and made the necessary changes long ago."

All true. The ones who were let go are all now working the competition. You best believe their spilling their guts on WF operates, But honestly working for the competition and getting to know the systems WF is in the stone age. Your pay a buyer to hang clip boards and spend hours at the computer to do a proper truck to shelf order and look up movement competition does a ll that in a hand held gun. A better "SOP" system. Still having lots of friends and family working for WF I still get the good stuff daily. It is just sad becasue it was once stood a part from the rest and now its just another sinking retail. Value your TM's. Those ones you let go are the ones who are making the competition stronger.Where will WF be in the next five years? Thats the question. Were not getting younger yall

Just a terrible situation, current restructuring process is putting even more stress on team members. While the already dishonest, inadequate management teams are struggling to save their butts and a sinking ship, its like " Oh now we are going to clean up, all will be OK, and if you don't comply, your fired? fun and fresh, keep donating to starving children in Africa please. The customers are gone John, and all they ever wanted was lower prices, they found them at Costco, Trader Joes, Sprouts,Aldi and their local conventional grocery store,DUH.

And all the team members who have been laid off, fired or quit.

There probably working at one of those stores selling all the secrets and weak spots of Wholefoods.
