If you put 100 into anything at all, even a single etf or mutual fund you deserve it.

5% off is a lousy discount, I think. They should give us a better deal than that, really. We were riding high for a long time and I bought it anyway because I thought it would go up forever. And I was foolishly buying stock at 5% off for years and that was before the stock price tanked so now I have stock that is worth less than I paid for it. It may never come back, the stock price that is. And furthermore I had all of my 401K 100% in whole foods stock also and that is worth less than it should be. So the moral of the story , wherever you work, is think twice before you buy your employers stock and don't put all of your 401(k) in your employers stock. It is best to diversify and use something like mutual funds or index funds.

Yep 5% off has happened since 2007' prior to that you could buy at 20% off but had to hold for 2 years
