Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Things Whole Foods customers do that drive you nuts.

I hate it when they pick up bread with their bare hands to get the one underneath, put the one they touched back, then do a karate chop motion as they ask to get their bread sliced.

Asking me where a grocery item is located when clearly I'm behind the pfds counter. I just pick a random isle and tell them it's there, no matter what the item is. They'll find a grocery tm on the way if they don't find it. No ones ever come back to me to tell me it wasn't there.

The chronic returners..your stl will tell you that most returns are legit but everybody who has ever worked a customer service booth knows the 5 or 6 chronic returners at every store..here in south florida we have people who drive in our terrible traffic just to return at multiple stores.

Excuse me, I know you're busy but can you take me to this item that is across the store and obviously belongs to another department? On the way I'll walk really, really slowly and stop to pick up and study multiple items and hit every single sample I see.

As a employee I have the right and it is my right as CA is a right to work state, I should not be expected or required or asked to perform any type of work including talking to customer or anyone for that matter if I AM NOT BEING PAID FOR IT!! I do not have the time to waste without pay to do anything for anybody, money is the only reason I am at work, No money No honey plain pure and simple.

Ones that demand I use only one bag for their eggs , tomatoes and 5 glass bottles then the handle breaks as soon as they pick it up and act like it's my fault. As well as when someone who buys an item that weighs over 10 pounds but wants you to bag no more than 5 pounds per bag as they have medical restrictions. Customers who bring obviously non service animals in and don't understand the health implications. Seriously I had someone arguing with me while their dog p--ped by the cafe and other guest just wheeled their carts through it. People who diitchcold items in dry aisles for them to spoil. All the his happens in other stores I am sure. I always thought it was weird when people would ask if I had items they could borrow on me, safety pins, Kleenex,, super glue, a measuring tape, paper clips. When I was on register I was fully stocked up if I had a pen, often we did have pens as there was no money for supplies. I would never think to hand anyone a dirty diaper to throw away while they were ringing out my food but that happened a lot. I once saw an employee running to help a customer at a service case,he fell really hard and the customer just kept ordering. And my all time favorite while we had long lines, the person ready to check out with nothing on the belt cell phone up and puts finger to lips to shush you and they will not let you unload the cart to start ringing their purchase. This always got a nice crowd response from throes behind them.

If I don't have a name tag or apron on, I'm not on shift. Don't expect me to respond, make eye contact, or even acknowledge that you asked me something.

I'll be back tomorrow at 2pm and I'd be happy to help you at that time.

Keep ignoring customers even when in the building no wonder it's in the shape it's in

Ask me questions when I'm clearly not on shift but they recognize me. Most of the time I just walk past them and pretend I didn't hear - I'm not being paid for this.

I hate the ridiculous customers that read something about a dietary intolerance but have no clue what exactly it is they're not supposed to be consuming which leads to questions like "Do you have Gluten Free Water?".

ONLY WHOLE FOODS CUSTOMERS

Speaking of samples, I would never touch them. I can recall many times going to the restroom and noticing someone finish their business and walk straight out without stopping by the sink.

Or they grab samples from bulk bins with bare hands. Esp. Kids who are hungry. Ugh.
