Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

BOA CORPORATE BULL Sh--

BOA should be ashamed on how they have treated their employees. all of these lay offs are terrible! Especially for the ones that have worked so hard and have followed all the corporate BS rules and went above and beyond! It's been a year since my layoff and I'm still Hurt and picking up the pieces! Still trying to figure why the hell I was let go when there were people in my department that surfed the internet all day and didn't care about theirs work and BOA! BUT they still have jobs, surfing the internet while I'm still trying to find work!!! Still bitter

While some of these things exist around Corporate America, this place takes them to the extremes and then some. The toxic effects from the Union Carbide disaster in India in 1984 are now spilling over here.

Visiting this website reminds me of all of the BS that I happily left behind a couple of years ago. There is a great and totally fulfilling life outside of this toxic company.

Honestly, until you are laid off, you have no idea and you can say all you want but when it happens it's like a stab in the gut. It's a betrayal feeling. Prepared or not, it s---s! All of you on here posting that still have your jobs and benefits with the bank have no clue what's it's like. Yes, guy hear the rumors, you see others getting laid off but until it actually happens to you, you have no f---ing clue. The disrespect to the ones that get laid off and vent on here is crap! Shame on you, you have no f---ing clue, because you still have your f---ing job! I love how quick you all to be so judgmental, but yet, you still all have your job. Wait for it, you will eventually find out, the stab. Try and be more respectful to the ines that have been laid off, you that have your jobs still do not understand..

I don't understand why people think they are owed a job just because they've been here for several years. I have the luxury of living in a big city with lots of employment choice, so I'm lucky but if I get canned tomorrow I would take a few days to lick my wounds and then move on with my life. I would expect what I'm owed in terms of severance/vacation pay of course which at over 8 years of service isn't too shabby. We don't live in a world where people work at one place their entire lives...the financial services industry is shrinking have a plan B...if you are still ruminating over your layoff a year later get some mental help!

Just like its name says, the quality of this site is in correlation with the layoffs' expectancy and layoffs cycles. When layoffs are near, people tend to write more; some have just concerns and some have insider info. When layoffs are over, some of the people who lost their jobs as well as the ones who stayed and feel miserable at their jobs, hang around here to blow some steam off. So, my two cents, this board is gonna be brilliant soon enough, but sadly, I don't see it as a good sign for us who work at BOA.

There is life after Bank of America, try find it and move on, like the person below said you really should have seen the writing on the wall, it's been happening for years. Some people keep their heads in the sand hopefully it won't happen to them.

Wow, you do sound bitter even a year later but it's surprising you hadn't noticed this going on for the past several years. If venting on this board works for you and makes you feel better then great but otherwise I suggest you find your happy place and let it go because surely that toxic bitterness comes through in your interactions and job interviews. Surely not all former colleagues spent all day surfing the net and your lumping everyone into the same bucket just makes you sound angry and petty which is probably why you're still trying to put the pieces back together a year later. Good luck and for your own benefit, move on already.

we always copied customer info...ssn. pins...card numbers...everything...required by the bank but told us not to leave on our desk so we walked out with all of it....it was required. Poor customers. Copy everything.

Truly is quite entertaining watching all these corporate lapdogs discover the true nature of corporate america.

To think, some actually believed that B.S. they were fed about caring for employees....

LOL!!
