@6ghp What was the total number of associates laid off based on the package you received?
yeah it is interesting but i doubt any admin would be so stupid to announce something like -- curious, tho.
i got my severance package today. interesting insert lists out the Roles, ages, and # of fired in that category for my org in GT&O. i think it was to show there is no ageism going on although there was one person at 70+ -- ouch. Plenty at 30, 40, 50, and 60 too.

So this poster warning on 6/9 that 6/13 was cut day was 100% correct! wonder if it was an admin. for an exec. who made their flight plans to a site. the last 14 rounds of layoffs were all on Wed. and this was the first time a Tuesday layoff occurred at our site.
Many let go in GT&O in Atlanta.

Well, it was true. It happened in Asia as well. I was let go today in HK. Not much to say, just the management like those quiet and no common sense people around. I am outspoken and guess it is the fatal mistake.

It was one of the happiest days of my life. Took 3 months off, found a less stressful and much more fun job, collected pay and severance for over a year and have never looked back. Even named my new boat The Severance :) Wish my number had been drawn sooner.
It depends on the state where you live. In some states, if you are receiving severance (even if you took a lump sum) you are not eligible for unemployment until the severance runs out.
One of the first things that they tell you when they give you the severance package is to file for unemployment benefits immediately.
So the only loser is the person who mocks those who do.
@2bii, why would you call anyone a loser for claiming unemployment? Do you even know what unemployment is? It's a claim against the insurance you paid while you are working, no different from claiming on auto or home insurance after an incident, unemployment is not charity.
