the reading levels displayed by these supposed TLs is hilariously depressing. kinda easy to see why the company is quickly failing and people are easily fooled into boasting about busting a-- in order to enrich stockholders who are hemorrhaging their hard work + destroying the store working environment with terrible strategic decisions. laughable. things'll never change, sad for those who are financially stuck and can't move onto better work environments. funny to watch for those holding onto their fragile prides.

I find it hilarious astls are so blind to the fact all there work is being put on TLs. You will be replaced just like everyone else. We do more work than you. I would love to see the idiot who posted below me do a week straight of over nights in a million solar store. When was the last time you put out 400 peices
Sounds like jealousy to me. Why not better yourself and move up - you'll see how it really is. And if it weren't for the better pay, god sometimes I wish all I had to do was stock or serve food or whatever. What a stress free life that would be!
5urq - exactly. It's the same in any organization though. The laborers think management doesn't do anything, management thinks upper management doesn't do anything.
None of it is true, though there are bad workers at every echelon of the food chain.
To think that all higher ups don't do anything is the same as thinking all the low level laborers are lazy, uneducated, and easily replaceable. It's simply not fair to issue blanket statements about a class of worker whether it's the bottom or the top.
The teams do onboarding of TMs part of labor reduction with eliminating PBS. The most important process in a grocery store is getting ---- on a shelf. Stop spreading fake news.
look at what you just wrote out - if you think those expectations are realistic in anyway then you've been fooled by executive management. stores used to be staffed to handle that but not anymore - and I thought we were trying to cut down on the amount of high-paid people in the building (regional + global included) who do no essential strategizing or labor? understandably the store admin has more essential stuff than not, anyone who thinks TLs are happy is silly. however, the key of redundancy is superiors focusing on irrelevant things that ultimately don't lead to increased sales, less customer complaints, better TM morale or actually fixing or replacing defective systems and technology so you don't have to spend so much time troubleshooting stuff. the situation is laughable to anyone who hasn't been in the company for a decade.
side note, stocking shelves is not "redundant" - actually leads to increased sales unlike the strict email requirements needed b/c people in the company are insecure. it's actually pathetically easy to move up in the company which is why we have so many sh--ty management problems company-wide. you don't sound like a bad TL though, why so defensive? easier to leave for better managed places if you are actually worthwhile.
Please enlighten us to the redundant admin. Or maybe you'd like to trade places and do the following: make schedules, control shrink, stay on top of job dialogues, screen new hires, set up interviews, find time to train new hires, do their week 1-4 feedback, correct mispunches, manage your sop walks, respond to emails from your superiors, respond to emails from upset guests, check time and attendance, deliver counseling statements, talk to tms about everything from their personal issues to work issues as they trickle in the office and expect you to help, troubleshoot technology that might be broken for your dept, and all that is just in a good day if you're not being called to the floor by your team or stl to deal with something. Half of you b--ch and moan about the redundancy of your job stocking shelves it's actually no wonder you made it no further.
4ete - yep, much of the admin seems pointless to your eyes, but it's gotta be done whether we want to or not. I'm sure there are plenty of tasks you do in your dept that may seem pointless but it has to be done. Your TLs gripe about the same thing, and believe me it goes all the way up the chain. S--- it up or leave man.
Would rather have them in the back than walking the floor delegating orders. Not in leadership, but their job got harder as well with changes.
you'd be surprised how redundant and pointless a lot of the "admin" is when you actually hear about it. definitely some sheltered leaders overpaid to do nothing, kinda what happens when you give an uneducated workforce the reigns of business marketing/organization but they've done nothing but work at poorly run and outdated whole food stores for the last decade! can't wait to see them scramble for anything once the company is out of business/sold.
If you saw all the admin required to run a grocery store you wouldn't believe it.
Depends on the store you are in I have worked with some good ones actually. Definetly some sh-- bags out there though.
Not in the SW Region...everyone is going mad with too much on their plates.
Have you asked them to help you?
Not true
