Unprofessional ATL

We have a specialty atl in our store who talks down to people. We have repeatedly gone to our STL and he has not done anything about it. What can be done going forward? I would hate to go to my STL, TL or PBS in fear of retaliation-This is a problem with our store, there are team leaders who lack training.

I disagree. You may be too sensitive or you may have someone who talks down to you. Maybe they make you their pet project for the week and micro-manage you, telling you with no enthusiasm how your decisions are stupid and don't speak to you like a leader. But, I agree that I have never heard of this being ground for any changes. Upper mgmt can talk to this person but as you see, they were promoted to leadership. Also, if you report them act very rational. Being treated poorly over time or worse can cause emotions to build. You will be not be taken seriously if you come across as heated if you report this. They need to say/do something very wrong with you writing a date/time it occurs. Still might not do anything. I've seen leaders everyone knew were belittlling and awful, who were quite sensitive to criticism but who had a talent for giving it. They were promoted and stay in positions for years. Some go all the way to the top. The constant turnover hasn't been a clue. I've never seen one terminated or asked to step down.

Talking down to ppl is hardly grounds for action. Lots of jerks in management no matter where you go. What does your own TL have to say? You should consider that maybe you're just being too sensitive.

Corner the jerk and tell him, "Look, I'm fed up with your attitude and your unprofessional behavior. I've documented EVERYTHING you've done and said to others and to me. You have about five minutes to learn how to act in a professional setting or I will not go to HR, or store leadership. I'll gather about ten of us and we're going to the regional vice president." If nothing changes, FOLLOW THROUGH. The best way to deal with an asswhole is to let that person know you're not putting up with it. Last time I told someone off they BEGGED me for forgiveness and I said as long as it didn't ever happen again, I would let it go. And I did. Problem solved. In other words, have some guts and don't let anyone treat you badly.

Long story short, nothing will change. You option is to reach out to TMS hotline and open a investigation. Waste of time because all that will happen is a talking to. Maybe a corrective counseling. Transfer departments, store, job or wait it out. That's how life is everywhere, be lucky you are at Whole Foods at least.

Guys, read the site rules again. They don't allow any personal identifiable information. While ago i wrote something about my coworker (used the first name and a store location), site admins nuked all my posts and blocked my IP. Using proxy now, super slow.

Name the store or region if possible. The first response is correct. Document everything (time/date, place and witnesses). Also, the circumstances. You need to also go for therapy, in this way you have a trail of professional involvement.

Make a journal of everything for a week or two. Connect some legal and gig infrictions in the notes and bang, he/she will stop. Better yet you will be immune to write up for 6 months.
