They should fire leadership that doesn't do bag checks. Not doing them is saying it's okay to steal.

Lol, Sales are always up this time of year? Ok you clearly don't follow comps across the company. We haven't had sales like this for over 5 years. Run a report YOY anyone with a computer at wfm can do that and look at any region,

Sales are always up this time of year. as far as traffic foot it did increase after the purchase however more people came in to realize W FM is still the same overpriced grocery store. Once the newness of Amazon buying this wears off something is going to have to be done with our inefficient un cost-effective businessman. BTW A robot STL isn't such a bad idea

Sales are down? Not reposting at regional? Wtf are you in a bubble? #1 it's on the news the traffic is up. #2 we see the weekly sales and can run a report sales are up in every single region minus hurricane. #3 I have seen sh--loads of regional reposting in every region with the alias I'm on. You guys are idiots talking that nonsense. What's next they are going to have STL robots? Jesus

So exactly make help more readily online and cutout the middle man. I bet reducing whole body products by 10-20%, it'll be amazing how many high maintenance customers become savy self researchers

Um no. They ask the vitamin dept for help and then Scan a product with their phone with the Amazon app and save big moulah. This is not like buying a tv because tv's don't have personalized health problems. Sounds like you work in a different dept.

They'll centralize buying to take cost out. Prob restructure stores similar to distribution centers. Handful of managers and tons of human and robotic drones pushing product. Amazon sells just fine. Their education is the consumer doing research. If you can afford wf you can read thus do your own research. Not so fast on store expansion. Need to make the ones now profitable. I actually could see them closing stores that canabilize and turning one into a distribution center for the other. Don't be surprised if you wake up and now work in a warehouse seving cheap allegro coffee. And I'm sure Amazon plans to bring in their own management talent. Amazon disrupts. Not sure why all you think hey won't

Online it says they're getting rid of vendors. They say they're distracting and sales are down. Sales are down everywhere. In stores where they don't have visits and education, their sales are down too. The trick is not to get rid of education, it's to find a way to capture a sale after an employee helps the customer and then they buy it online because it's cheaper. They have the perfect opportunity to do that but I don't see this path leading to that. Stores that have their own education programs don't get to learn what the differences in a product are.

The STL\ASTL group was awful in allot of stores before the bonus restructuring at least in the NA. Most of them worked with some of the higher up at regional so they are entitled to be incompetent.

Post is bogus. Amazon is on track to open more stores. They plan on hiring.

Layoffs have occurred over the past two years.

Your STLs and ASTLs no longer make the $$$ they use to make due to bonus restructuring. This is why your new ASTLS and STLS are so inexperienced/awful.

Positions have not been filled when vacated at Regional levels. Some buyer positions have been consolidated on some teams in some stores.

I do not expect to see layoffs ... can't even imagine seeing all stores in sync for years...even with the moola.

I am long out of whole foods and don't miss it. My hunch is Amazon is in a position to weed out the team members who are no longer needed. Already they did away with some of the best people you could go to if you had a question about the job. Best to polish your resume and be prepared.

What a joke of a post, cashiers, buyers and coordinators...Hmmm ok. See ya in two years Sherlock! There will be other jobs for those that can preform at a high level. Just because a position is eliminated doesn't mean the TM would be and I will guarantee you cashiers ain't getting cut!

😂 ⬇️zappos was a highly successful startup that vertically integrated right into Amazon. True it won't happen overnight but seriously what can be automated will be. And prior to Amazon, yes we were ways away because we didn't have the no how or structure for change. That's over now. Ask Santa for a new job...a new better job

I don't know how you all think the ordering will be done. We are a long way from auto replenishment. Teams are pretty much combined in the SW so there are no TLs to cut.

While I share in the anxiety of losing my job (next week with a new FY maybe??) I think this acquisition will be like ZAPpOs.com. Amazon has mostly left them alone for years with the original CEO intact.

If you are in the SW region then I believe we have seen the worst of it. I hope so anyway!

I know life will go on....

@PlSlX9D-2kum-- I am also a buyer and agree completely. The writing is on the wall, regardless of your team, your store. It doesn't matter. And, with the acquisition, we've all become more dispensable.

I'm a buyer and even I'll admit the end is coming. Best to look elsewhere. Whole foods gave a lot of us really bad buying skills but if you were willing and able should have learned some good things along the way. Use those skills, polish your resume and fake it till you make it. My problem are interviews. Still really hard. But you gotta keep trying. Don't be left in the dust when buyers get cut All the other full time positions will still be filled when you get cut so dont wait to lose everything. Dont be afraid to leave. Whole foods wont miss you. That whole foods is long gone. Sorry,

Why not get rid of tms that steal and leadership that allows it.

  1. No bag checks. Tms not only steal off the shelves but from the donations that suppose to go to the less fortunate.

  2. Tms that stand around and talk more than work. Work super slow to eat up the labor budget.

Not speculation my friend , yes there is scheduled automation for cashiers , the remaining would just be a few that assist customers . this is the long term plan, distribution center will be looked at for logistics , coordinators will

Not be needed and team leaders will have combo teams with 3 Tls with there pay restructured as well. Please read amazon supermarket in YouTube , automation will come .

I'm assuming that you are just speculating. There would be no reason to lay off cashiers unless stores were closing and there wasn't anywhere to transfer to. Even if they went to 50% automation, cashier numbers would eventually dwindle down through cut hours and eventual attrition. They would not want to pay out for an entry level position. Cashier is probably the safest position to have. There is always a need.
