Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Nowhere to go but up

I keep reading posts here bemoaning Amazon and what it'll do to Whole Foods, but as somebody correctly asked in one of those threads, can things really get worse than they already have without Amazon's help?

Whole Foods has been going downhill for years. At least with the acquisition we have a chance to see some actual change for better take place. Where do you think we'd be in a few years without Amazon? Seriously?

You must not have worked at Whole Foods recently. Lots of people have been being let go. Maybe this is not known in the media yet because they are not announcing it. They are firing people instead of laying them off. Amazon is smart!

You'll see a lot less middle management positions under Amazon. Every store will be combo teams. No buyers. Maybe even no ASTLs or just one STL and one ASTL. I'm sorry but I just don't see a positive side to Amazon ownership for WFM. The insurance has already gone up. I've heard they even did away with the free insurance for people over 10K service hours. It's obviously becoming less employee friendly.

You are all screwed, Amazon is one of the worst companies to work for, if anyone thinks it will get better then you are a fool.

Wow, you are full of it. You pulled some random scenario out of your a-- and said F--- Amazon based on it? How about we wait and see what happens. I agree with OP, nowhere to go but up.

In a few years it's very possible that WFM could be gone, however it's possible Amazon could change the format of WFM to a Walmart format and they have the money to do it fast, so the real question is unemployment money or much lower wages, so either way Amazon will not pay the same wages WFM has been paying for years, F--- AMAZON.
