From personal experience that whole happiness stunt is a lie. What percentage of your coworkers do you think are really happy at whole foods? There are a lot of mean people who could not find a job anywhere else at the time and they show their discontent. I tried to at least fake the happiness. When I walked into the store I felt a huge drain. Even the produce and beverages felt the negativity as there were rotting. First time I saw a wine cork with mold under the metal seal. Hek, 90 percent of management were outwardly fear of their jobs because there is so much turn over right now. Highly toxic place.
Culture of happiness my a--, this company is full of the most pompous, uptight SOBs I have ever had the misfortune to work around. If you don't hang out with everyone outside of work and give them free drugs (which is contrary to the snobbery), you don't have a chance of moving up in the company!
Wait, you went to college? Hopefully you took 'How Not to be Scamed by a Heartless Corporation 201',oh you didn't,well then, we definitely have an ATL position for you.
The core values is for publicity only.
The core values/GIG book is used for firing employees.
WF barley keeps entry level employees anymore allot of new hires never come back from break. And the ones that do stay are the ones you don't want to they are the ones that call out all the time since its almost impossible to get fired.
Working at Whole Foods is fine but if you move up or stay over a year youre an idiot.
I wonder how many of the kids raised on whole foods goodies I met 2001-14 will end up working there?
What a load of lies
