I don't want to spread rumors - so treat this with a grain of salt. I've heard this today from a single person, and just wanted to let everyone know that another bout of rumors will start to spread quickly. Given the recent experiences, folks are concerned - this is a fertile ground for speculation.

On 1/31/18 layoffs in the IT Department were given a 90 day severance package that ends on May 18th. You must stay eligible for this severance package by assisting with the daily business as usual.
About 60 people in the IT Department were given offers to transition to Cognizant. This is to help with the required 12 months that these people must work on Academy's contract. These people will transition to a Cognizant employee during the first week of April. Beware you may be training your replacement, imo.
About 20-30 others from the IT Department were given offers to stay with the company in the IT Department.
Yes, all of this happened on 1/31/18.
They were given a 90 day notice (May 18th) during which time, they MUST help with the transition by training their replacements in order to receive their package.

This is more than likely being said because there are approximately that many folks in IT that were given 60 day notice. In this 60 days they give the knowledge to the out sourcing company folks that will be doing that job after that 60 days. Its transitional. Plus they can leave before the 60 days is up if they find another job.
