Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

WF Drama

Is it me... Or is anyone else purely loving the drama at Whole Fun Market? Seems like my store is slowly deteriorating. Management is pretty clueless (do they make a-- scratchers anymore?), more than half the team members are tired of all the b---s---. Secretly i am totally loving the downfall of Whole Foods. It's quite entertaining to witness. Hows the monkey business where your at?

I don’t think it’s amusing at all. I haven’t worked there in years but I keep up since many of my friends still do. It’s a bummer, and kinda messed up for you to watch with glee. Sure I still have some resentment towards leadership but let’s remember that we all do what we must for a living.

WFM BEL has horrible produce leadership that keeps getting away with murder from coming in whenever they want, never being on sales floor, cursing and yelling at team members on the sales floor or in meeting. She reduced VA hours so drastically to make labor that team members were getting way under the 36 hours promised. when team members went to STL ...talk to your TL is all they said. Team members get away with disappearing from the sales floor all the time because they have leverage on TL.... the list can go on and on. Sadly their store leadership acts like they don't see why team members are upset or why they call the tip line, but they will see this department fall sooner than later.

Thank you all for speaking out. My opinion: When stores have "things" missing and lose profit consistently and no one seems to grasp that fingers are sticky? Oh well. Time will tell. Plus the amount of drug abusers was crazy. I thought positive because hey drug addicts need jobs too and being a drug addict does not mean that person is bad. But when the drug addict behavior causes things to keep going missing and good people that try to report the discrepancies get the axe, makes me think Corp knows, condones, or is in on it. SW region.

I can't wait for my store to collapse under all of its arrogance. Quite frankly the only thing keeping me from finding another job is the fact that I can work whatever schedule I damn well please and they can't do anything about it because no one wants to work my sh--ty position. Nothing like having your supervisor call you a "f'ing retard" and them get off with a slap on the wrist. F--- this store.

What's sad is that most people now working at WFM only see how sh--ty it is. Back in the day it was quite pleasant. Mackey really f---ed up.

I too am in the SW. The resets have not happened in my store at all. No way do we have time. We barely get the change out done on time. It's hilarious. I know my time is short....

I recently got fired after 8 years just in time for the OTS program. I feel bad for my close friends that are still there.

My store’s doing great. Moral is high, and our leadership is very well connected. I suppose if that changed, though, and I not only stopped liking my job, but I also got satisfaction in seeing things deteriorate further, I’d probably go find something else to do. Fortunately, I recognize that I am my life’s shepherd. Have a nice day.

It's heartbreaking. A lot of talented, dedicated people put their hearts and souls into building a business that rose above the norms at the time. The concepts worked, and WFM was the best of the best for a while, and we made a difference in many many ways. To see it crumbling like this, hurts. To see decisions being made out of arrogance and judgement, hurts. To see experienced, dedicated people fleeing from the wreck, hurts. To see fear based leadership replacing servant leadership and love, hurts. To have tried to raise the alarms over recent years, to only be pushed down, hurts.

The good news is that the concepts work, it's just time to build something new and true somewhere else.

Lol.....I can’t even hide it anymore, what’s really funny to me is how each Regional team is trying to justify their existence by suddenly creating new “this” and new “that” policy, procedure, program, training, course, operations....all it does is cause more work and stress to our severely depleted workforce on the floor, and those poor unfortunate TM’s & TL’s running around like fools thinking it’s all doable, hilarious. Our regional Grocery Team here in the SW kicked off January’s Category Resets with 17 categories to visit, including the Spice Set... I think my store completed 1, and the other stores I visit look like they’ve done none, oh forgot to mention there is no more vendor support for resets, which makes it even more ridiculous, just completely out of touch. Tomorrow is the new sign launch (again) for like the 3rd time since Amazon bought us, I think the new slogan this time is “New Everyday Guarantee Best Low Price Quality Great 365 Amazon Foods Whole Prime”

Yes, I too am enjoying it. All the things that I was seeing and tried to talk about as a precaution, management and Regional said would never happen. I needed to keep my opinions to myself. Now I feel vindicated and I am quite enjoying all the whinning.
